hello tina, the parts are still available and the appliance should still be worth a repair.
have you tried the engineer search facility on site?

have you tried the engineer search facility on this site?
    where are you based?
your fault could be due to a number of things.
more likely causes are the defrost cycle in the freezer or the freezer evaporator fan not working.

    Re: RS21DGRS fridge freezing issue

No, I mean specifically the evaporator.
If the cover and all around the fan is frosted then it’s the cover that’s at fault. If it’s the evaporator itself that’s heavily iced, then as you’ve already proved the components on the defrost circuit, then your problem will be the sensor.
I suspect anyway, from what you’ve already said, that if you were to buy another cover and a sensor, then your problem would be solved.

    Was the evaporator frosted up?
If it was relatively clear, then it’s likely you need a new evaporator cover.
Obviously, all the components on the defrost circuit are good, the only question mark would be against the sensor, but if the evaporator was clear, a new evaporator cover should remedy your problem.

Re: Hotpoint Mistral Fridge AND Freezer not cooling

From the pic above, that’s the condenser fan, not the evaporator fan. If you’ve fitted an evaporator fan and the evaporator fan runs on 12v (I’m not sure on this model) then that could be where your problem is.
Worse case is that you’ve blown the board.

With respect, it looks like you’ve had a go yourself and stuffed it up.
I think it’s time to call out an engineer to fully inspect the damage.

    Re: RS21DGRS fridge freezing issue

The insulation fails on the evaporator cover allowing moisture ingression and ultimately freezing up of the cover and the fan motor. If you can hear the fan motor running, then the evaporator cover is probably ok.
Without putting a meter on the components of the defrost circuit, it’s impossible to give you a definitive answer.
Your problem could be with the defrost heater, thermal fuse, defrost sensor.

    Re: Football Season 2013/14

The clarets are looking very good at the moment. Their work ethic and general play are getting good results, although we’re only a couple of injuries away from disaster, given our painfully thin squad.
David jones was carried off this afternoon and he’s been in great form so far this season.
We were linked with Lingard earlier in the season and there’s still talk of us having him on loan later on.
Rochdale took the points despite being reduced to ten men in what sounded like a bad tempered Lancashire derby at accrington.
Oldham settled for a point at home to Crewe. Just looking at the stats and Crewe had 65{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} possession, so perhaps a point wasn’t bad?

    Re: RS21DGRS fridge freezing issue

Well replacing the evaporator cover is by no means a permanent fix, although they have been modified since the appliance first came out.
It sounds like you have a fault on the defrost circuit, or the evaporator cover again, or maybe even both.
