Thanks Martin and Chris for the info.
So job done, and I am wiser.
Strange customer hadn’t noticed it before, she has had the machine for 5 years.

Apologies, it was a built in one. No kick panel just the kick board. My mistake. 😳

Agree with Clives post.
Had one the other day, exactly same fault, detached the corrugated hose from the inlet chamber, on the right looking from the front of the machine. Its just a push fit with an O ring, Took a deep breath and blew through the corrugated hose towards the sump. Hey presto lots of gunk flew into the sump, which was cleaned out. Machine worked fine. 😆Didn’t even have to get machine out from under work top.
Don’t forget UNPLUG machine first

Looks like I need to ask her some questions 😳
Although the cooker jobs that have come in over the weekend will probably come first, as we fast approach Christmas.
And two of these have obviously not just developed the fault over the last few days. Like an old Neff BI double oven with both doors off, customer took them off to attend to the hinges, unsuccessfully, a couple of months ago. Expensive, but it won’t cook the bird without doors ! 😉

I’ve had the heater out Mr Penguin. Nothing inside. 🙁

Thanks for the replies to my question.
It seems so strange that there is no evidence of rust marks within the tub and drum of the machine, including the folds of the door boot.
With the amount of marks on the towels, (must be at least ten on each) I felt sure I would find some residue within the machine. The drier duct did come to mind while at the house, although made of aluminium, the heaters within could possibly rust, especially as the drier may not be in frequent use. Will have to find out.
Will get back to customer and explain the situation. I don’t mind stripping down the machine IF I find the cause.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi IZ 16 S with an E33 error code
There is a service bulletin for the E33 code on the TDS offline cds, which mentions can be caused by earth leak on heater.
Have never worked on these myself. 🙂 Yet
Best of luck

Thanks to both of you for your help, cross fingers you will get a reply from the email you sent Dave.
It makes one thankful that other manufacturers (like Bosch) make information on parts freely available.
Do you remember when we used to have folders full of microfiche for Bosh/Neff/Siemens, still got the mini viewer in the van, haven’t used it for a long time 😆
