    maybe

since the machines drum changes direction you could have a blown track for the spin direction but machine will still turn the other way

is a bit of a non argument. both wires carry the current that allows the load to do its work. so both wires carry load current. the only difference it you cant get a shock off a neutral as its bonded to earth

continuity test will tell you if a component is open circuit but will not tell you when its energised. the only way to do this is to look for voltages when the unit is powered up.
prob against all the health and safety regs these days but a darn site quicker

as for the neural theory i would have to read the text to see where they are coming from

it will go into fault mode if the motor does not move and i think it will also go if its open circuit due to blown track
there are a few resets but the one you have tried is correct one for wae series

have you checked board for damage ?

    clear proceedure is

turn knob to 6 o clock
    press and hold spin speed
turn knob to 7 o clock
    now release spin button
sometimes take 2 or 3 tries

works on lots of bosch machine with spin speed button

suspension kit is a bit of a pig to fit but done lots of them so when your ready will give you a few hints
you will need a Stilton wrench and a 13 mm ring spanner to remove
