900 what? if thats amps something could be glowing

    long shot

fault seems a big vague and the readings are all over the place so i am thinking its a pcb problem. specifically a power supply problem on the board. if the board gets to a point it runs out of power it will turn the motor on, run out of power, and then on again untill the timer crashes or times out. this will make your ammeter get alternative readings of on and off. since digital meters take time to settle this may be the reason for your wild readings

look at the timer printed circuit board. you are looking to see if they use a series capacitor to power it

look in the pcb faults section at the top of the trade tech enquiries forum

check the motor first they dont always make a noise when they fail. you have to listen very carefully for a humming noise

one of the elements has an earth fault. you have to work out which one does it ie grill or oven element

it is a component on the pcb thats failing

if you find an engineer that can do it whole job should be less than £75 (if i am right)

if you trim them back to clean wire it will be ok

if not you need heatproof wire suitable for about 10 amps

most people dont use the clock so you could have just bridged it so the clock tells the time thats all

connectors dont have a type as such but all connection have to be clean and tight.
ie if you crimp onto damaged wire it will cause heat and burn out very quickly
