Moderatorif you are saying the inner drum moves 2 or 3 mm inside the outer drum then thats too much
on spin you have a heavy load of washing trying to push the drum in all directions. if there is any play in the inner drum it will bang about inside the outer one
a small amount of play front to back is ok but up and down is a no no

Moderatorwell looking on connect I think it may be their part no

Moderatorcracked spider leg leads to drum run out. when you spin by hand the drum is out of true. during spins with a load in the other spider arms flex and it starts hitting both the door rubber and possibly the outer tub. it can continue until the tub rubs through and it floods

ModeratorTailSpin wrote:I hadn’t, but just did. There is just one large piece of concrete on the top of the drum and it is firmly attached, so the noise is not being caused by a loose concrete. Was a good point though.
there is another big concrete weight at the front under the door rubber

you need to look well down inside till you can see the impellor
the blockage will be in the impellor itself not the passage way to it

Moderatorhave you checked the concrete weights have not come loose ?

Moderatorwell my first thing on this type of fault is elements
we get all sorts of fault caused by elements with slight earth faultstry disconnecting the wires to the dryer element. make them safe and see if it makes a difference
you can try the same with the wash heater but it will only run rinse and drying progammes as it cant heat the water
you may get error codes if so we will have to rethink

ModeratorJCLAB wrote:Ah.. exccellent schematic thanks.
Were you suggesting I should be able to see into the main pump using mirror etc as you describe in your first message?
Thanks again,
Jonathan Cschematics can be seen here
https://www.siemens-home.bsh-group.com/uk/customer-service/spare-parts-search
just put Enr in
yes you can see with a small mirror, have done it lots of times
you can see whats inside the pump herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=3RF_KMxb2X4
as for the pump see pic below and the arrow pointing to the impellor input where it can block
if you can see a blockage but cant hook it out you may have to remove the motor. do not take the motor apart as some utube videos show

Moderatorthats the drain pump the wash pump is the other side of the sump
Dave
drain pump 455
wash pump 450
electrofix
Moderatorfirst thing i would check is to see if the pump has swallowed something like plastic that may have been on plates
on this model with a bright torch and a small mirror you can see into the pump impellor from the sump
remove filter and dry out water. remove small plastic guard protecting the pump inlet. then use mirror and torch to see if you can see anything
have managed to hook things out with stiff wire to save removing motor
Dave

Moderatorbut did you test it electrically to make sure the drier knows the door is closed ?
