cant you buzz the wires with a multimeter to find relay

one side of relay will go direct to heater other side of relay willl be direct live or neutral

    Re: Microwave Question

to be honest i would do it the dangerous way

this will only work on old transformered units not invertor types

diconnect mag turn on for about 5 secs

turn off and unplug (for safety and to remove earth return)

short cap to earth and see if you get a big spark (using a well insulated screwdriver )

if you do all hv ok just mag down

you have to be careful but no more dangerous than opening an unknown microwave and having to discharge for safety

    hope this helps

    thanks for reply

    have tried 50hz pump

the old type shaded pole motor pumps are ok but the new synchronous type will not start would try and find old type of pump but am not sure pcb components will take extra load and inductance

this is a problem on ships nowhere else would you get a 60hz 240v supply they have got to be awkward

most top oven have the switch section for the grill elements and a lot of them have a different temp scale so if you swop temps may not line up

the next question is why you need to know both seem to be available

    Re: Weird Hotpoint WMA fault???

had a zanussi come up with a similar fault in my case was condensation on motor but carbon dust or and fault to earth might cause it

theory is if motor is neutral switched a short to earth will seem like a shorted triac

    hope this helps

    Re: Hotpoint Drum Paddles/Lifters

if you look at thr mk2 lifter turn it over and inspect the lugs that lock it into place

mk 2 lugs are squared off

mk3 has a 45 degree angle i assume to try and deflect items like coins to try and stop failure

apart from that never tried to cross fit

had the rep in from electrue and decided to open account

was not happy giving my home address as i consider this to be private and i have been here for 30 years but bye the bye i did and he sent off the paperwork

it came back about a week later with a request for a direct debit mandate on my account. now this to me is a non starter giving a supplier access to your account to tase money when they feel like it even if you consider some invoices in dispute

i was not in a good mood that morn but when i got this letter i phoned the rep and took it out on his answerphone i still want to know why he did not tell me about this and if he did not know why he works for the shower of idiots i would not have applied for the account on these terms
