Moderatorshort answer you have not got much chance
this part always came with the spider and it was only the very old machines it was available as a seperate part
also if it is under 5 years old and registered hotpoint would give you the part for free and you would only pay for labour

hopefully it will be simple to fit… I just don’t want to break anything hence my questionsince its all heat proof it will be metal and hard to break. the only thing is insulation which you may carefully have to move and put back

Moderatorluck
the machine has a threshold. if the item you put in revolves and is evenly distributed around the drum it will spin. if its in a big lump it wont. somewhere in the middle there is a go , nogo point
the computer decides based on power it feeds to the motor

Moderatorcant see this part on the oven parts listing but there are 11 ovens with the same model. would need Pnc number to tie it to one
chances are when part arrives it should give you a clue how it fits

Moderatori always fit gen parts as the copy ones dont seem to be as good these days. Plus this element is not that dear
go here and enter the model and PNC number of your unit. you can then select the part
looks like is about £27

Moderatorbeermontypython wrote:Thanks very much for the information. Do have any idea what it would cost to have the job done, or is it a job I could do myself, do I get to it from the side or the front/back
depends where you are as different areas have different labour rates
as for if you can do it depends on your machanical skill. the rear fan is easier to do than the front and you would need socket sets etc to deal with the bolts

ah makes sense now
ok go to the power board and find the power supply chip. normally fed through a low ohm resistor ( under 100 ohms)
find and check this resistor and see if its blown. if yes its normally the power chip that gone which can go pop anytime day or night as they are powered 24/ 7
beware if the resitor is ok you could have caps charged to 300vDC

try disconnecting all the wires to that element. make sure they are well insulated and away from any heat source etc
Then try it and see if it trips

Moderatordont buy any appliance without knowing where spares are coming from. we dont know who makes their own makes so its a no no unless you know that
in my opinion fit Beko appliances, you get 2 years warranty on integrated units only but there will never be a problem with spares

Moderatorstats seem to be available
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/index/?p=2&q=tc71p
but you need ask the shop which set is correct
if you look at the stats, often one has a small hole in vthe middle of the terminals. this hole allows you to reset the stat as this one is the safety stat and has a higher temp rating.
