Moderatorat least thats an easy fix as we see some horrors in our trade
been to an oven today and its wired into the ring main directly with 2 pieces of 2.5 cable. and the microwave above it is also wired directly in using choc block connector.
both have no isolation switchesDave

Moderatorsince the cover is non conductive then no matter what it touches it should not spark
it normally contamination that makes it arc out
not sure what this cover looks like but a lot of units use flat covers that can be cut to size
