are you sure this is where the wires where before you touched it ?
would expect to see wires where the arrows are

they have to say that as some of the stupid things i have pulled out of drums over the years and the warranty does not cover misuse

you will find this part on the right side in the plastic water unit
check wiring to it ( had cables eaten by mice before today) after that try changing it
cant promise I am right as i have not inspected machine.
I carry reed switches in the vasn and solder them to the board to make things quicker and cheaper. if you could source a suitable reed you could also do this or just replace the whole boardDave
