the earth leakage although not desirable will not stop your oven working. yes if you installed a safety trip it may trip out but as long as the oven is solidly earthed its not unsafe to use
something else must have blown when the element failed

assume the way you are talking the machine power up or is it dead
if it does power have you double checked the child lock as most machines have one these days

you say it stopped mis cycle but dont say what it was trying to do
have you set the machine to pump and started it while watching the impellor

ok its not the flashing ones that are important itd the ones that are not
the lights that show the programme progress are the fault code

try to see if their ways of extracting fault codes works on your unitDave
have you check the motor plug and wires have not been moved or damaged when the belt flew off as they go with quite a bang

as far as i know a flashing light tap symbol is just an indication there is a fault but never worked out how to tell which
do any other lights change and stay lit when it faults out
does it fault out immediately or wait 5 mins or so ?
