this is a bit of an odd one but I have had the same fault twice in a week

Candy / Hoover condensor drier, syptom board completly dead or runs for 5 minutes or so and board goes dead

I suspected power chips but when i get the board back to the workshop i was getting power in and out of the power chip

I noticed a bit of corrosion and paint lifing on the board so i cleaned this carefully to stop the corrosion bridging tracks and both board started working

replaced into relavent machines and both working ok for a few weeks now

It is a board repair of sorts it just needs no parts. I suspect a bit of condensation is getting onto the board possibly because of the partly blocked condensors

thats always a worry when parts are that expensive. The stat is held with steel rivets on a flimbsy back so drilling them out would fail even if you could manage to source a stat. Dont know why they dont use a stat with a reset hole like hotpoint

the tech bulletin on fitting the element goes into making sure the air flows correctly otherwise the stat blows. they must have had problems otherwise the bulletin would not have been issued

    complete heater only

as you said its rivetted so you can never get it off to change it even if you could get one

part no is correct if you type it into connect search bar

if you let me have you email can send you the tech bulletin

you want get the stat. if you did you have to wonder if its safe and if it went wrong your liable

cheapest i can see is connect at £69 plus vat

There is also a tech bulletin to make sure its fitted correctly or it blows TOC

    sounds mad

ok that may well be repairable

there are 2 or 3 capacitors on the board

    look at the rated voltage

one will be 400V. you can power the board and check for voltage on that cap. it should be 320v or so DC

if thats ok check the other caps. these have lower voltages 5 to 20v DC or so

if you dont get the 400v look for a fusible resistor to see if its gone. also look closely at the power chip, its a 7 leg chip look for a small blemish the size if pin head on the top surface, normally shiny. I get that mark if the chip overheats inside and goes faulty

if you get the 400v but nothing on the output caps its most likely the chip. if you get a voltage on the output caps that seems to rise then dies then there is a problem somewhere else on the board and it needs changing

cant find a decent pic of the board components to point thins out to you

if you can solder its a cheap fix if it works. aswo stocks some chips otherwise its ebay. dont know the chip no on this board but they often begin LNK or TNY

there are one or 2 suppliers now saying they can supply the heater alone. it does not come from Bosch as they only sell it as a complete unit

not tried one yet as not had the opportunity to and only one of my suppliers is showing as an option but has no stock

ransom spares seem to be cheaper but spending £140 or so on a guess can get expensive if your wrong
