Moderatorseem to remember some bulletin somewhere that said tap the heater relay if you get thia fault
may be wrong on that one but it cant hurt as F8 can be sticking heater relay
also when you tested the heater did you check it for earth faults ?Dave
electrofix
Moderatorwhen you say locate do you mean get the connector in the correct position or get the heater to sit in the seals ?
not seen one of these yet have managed to repair a blown heater and refit it ( once) but only because it went right at the connector

Moderatoryes it was for induction but its almost the same
unless the pan can take the heat away as fast as its being produced the ring will cut out
also full power on any ring is not needed for long usually as once things start to boil you turn them down

Moderatorok you dont have to order a miele mag
i use magsells
https://magsells.co.uk/ring them up as online prices are higher as most common mags are under £50 delivered
ok did you check mag to earth ?
did you check for bad contacts on the heater circuit ?

Moderatorit gets easier the more you do but putting it at the bottom has lots of negative about it
they put it in before the tub so its easy for them, for us its hard to get at, it can get condensation on due to cold air at floor level and add to the fact thats its well placed for slugs to get into and and i have had quite a few damaged board because of that

Moderatorok makes sense now in a way
assume top oven is gas but grill in top oven is electric
so they strap the light onto the grill element so thats ok
if they wanted to make the light work on the oven there would have to be a complicated switch just for the lamp.
if the top oven was electric and not gas it would be easy

Moderatorhave you got the pnc number as there are 10 different ovens with the same model
As K said it would not suprise but it does seem strange to make the light in the top oven work differently from the lower one

Moderatorput a pint of water or so to fill the sump. use warm water as its nicer to work with
get a cable tie and curl it to push it up into the chamber, then just jiggle and furkle around. anything in there should end up in suspension in the water so you will be able to see if anything is in there
