Moderatorok for car73 I am using C00196539
for car 72 I am using 50265479001 and there is C00194594 for 25p more
yes they are more expensive but I find the brush angle is more accurate so less sparking. Years ago lots of pattern brushes where Morganite a trusted british brand
where poss I go for gen parts. the pattern market is driven by engineers who want to make more and more profit. Cooker elements are the same, unless price is silly quote and fit only genuine parts. saves lots of call backs

Moderatoryou cant go by the resistance of the coil as its a coil so it has inductance that alters the coil resistance on an AC supply
That said from what you say its toast

Moderatorlooks like fan motor may still available if its the plastic fan type.
think some early ones had a heavy metal fan motor and if yours is that one it could well be obsolete
so if you fit both it should cure your problemDave

Moderatorsource of the information was a clear picture of the part on a suppliers website
resistor just slows the fan a bit to lower noise I assume.
The resistor you installed will get hotter and blow because its too large and if voltage drop exceeds 46v it will overload. Adding 2 resistors in parallel should have cured that but not if the motor is faulty. last one I saw did the same thing as motor was faulty
Dont know which line the timer board works on but all it does is allow the fan to run on after cooking for a given time

Moderatorcomes up as turbine failure
so its either the turbine, wiring or the board

Moderatorwould have to see it but from what i can see the unit may be made by Terim
you can see some terim elements here
https://elementman.co.uk/search?type…t&q=+terim+fan
there may be other places on line also
you would have to check fixings and sizes but am sure i have had this very same problem about 2 years ago and solved it

Moderatormost of the time if a power module blows it wont work again. most electronics destroys itself when things go pop
its seems to only do it when drawing power. could even be the wall switch or bad connections in that
Dave
electrofix
Moderatorits unlikely to be charged but there are 2 terminals on the top, take a screw drive and touch it across both terminals. if its charged it will discharge with a pop so you may jump
but as i said its highly unlikely and it will discharge through the motor

November 13, 2025 at 3:16 pm in reply to: suk62mfx5 Main Oven Fan not working but everything else appears to be OK #494114electrofix
Moderatorbehind the oven knob is a switch that activates the fan
have you tried giving the fan a push when you turn it on
only asking because if the fan bearing fails it will give a good reading and turn by hand but will sieze when energised but if you push it it will feel different when enrgised proving power is getting to it or not
you cant get a shock by touching the fan while its on but you could burn yourself on a hot element
