Moderatorok when it stops does it come up with and sequence of lights
if not it does sound like a board fault as it cant hold in the relays. you can see the flashes as the heater and motor kick in but it cant hold it
A lot of Hotpoint board can only be fitted by an engineer with programming equipment

Moderatorok may be able to help
found an old bosch board which wires were cut to remove. one of the plugs is the right size and by cutting off the the locating lugs it goes in and makes a solid connectionthe bad new is one of the leads is only about 15mm long but am sure you could solder and tape it. the other 2 wires are about 3 inches

Moderatorits also worth noting that if it was frost free there would be a lot less room for food storage inside

Moderatorno cant be the element the way you describe it
element either work or not normally and if it failed in use it would continue with no heat or throw up a fault code

Moderatoryou cant
no decent engineer would work for that unless they supply van, fuel and insurance
then maybe but if the jobs are miles apart that will make a difference
you cant even make money on spares by the looks of it

Moderatorcorrect a job for a refrigeration engineer and as you say cost wise probably not worth it
you could look into a repair by hoover under the parts guarentee
that way you pay labour but parts are free

Moderatorthink the plug on the motor side has not changed but cant comment on the other end
it can be a pig to get this plug out at the best of times. I have pulled the odd wire out while trying to extract it. sounds like your customer has been too enthusiastic
