as long as the motor is turning and its draining will be contaminated or worn clutch

also remove gearbox plug and see if its over filled. you get water getting in the box that pushes out the oil and contaminates the clutch

its a easy fit , you can get the whole box out in less than 15 mins

since fault 1 seems to be flooding in most hotpoint cases have you checked the base ?

its a dryer and they dont have brushes

most likely cause faulty capacitor

seems to show it as a 5uF

check value before you replace it but the value above seems to be correct

there are other things it can be but capacitor failure means motor starts with small loads but has no power to start larger ones

you are correct about the error code but the switch has 3 wires as its a changeover switch. could one of the wires from the board to the switch be broken ?

CO is the switch DPM drain pump connections KN4 , 5 are on the board

sounds like its flooded the base
take a lower cover off and mop out water and try it to see if it leaks

plug out before you touch anything

correct there is no secure frame and they dont have legs
but you could buy a unit to install them in but it would have to be fixed to the wall to prevent it falling forward

well in my opinion these days Hoover and Hotpoint are not the quality machines they once were

Hoover is now a chinese company and most of Hotpoint has just been sold to Beko which are better built machines

there seems to be over 100 of these units so would need the pnc number to look it up

wont be able to get component values unless service manual has a good pic but what worries me is why these resistors blew in the first place

it wont just be the resistors at fault, other components will have gone
