I did try resetting the pressure switch, but to no avail. Before I got there, my customer had relocated the machine and omitted removing the blue bung from the waste trap. He ran the machine 8 times, manually draining and restarting the moon each time. After that the moon would not reset with all but one of this progress LEDs lit. In desperation I confirmed the pump operated by blowing into the pressure switch to confirm the pump and door lock worked by putting it into anti flood mode.

I got the impression this machine could not cope with more that 8 no drain faults in a row, or did I use insufficient water, 1 pint, to reset?

Sometimes I have found the interior lamp blowing can damage tracks on the pcb.

Try turning on and then press the ‘P’ button for at least 3 secs to reset the program.

Yes, if the retainer comes of once it is likely to happen again. Glue it to the front panel with a bead debor on the inner edge.

There is a new housing development on my patch which has the Elux equiv. fitted in every house. I have come across this fault code about 20 times. Every time the dryer heater has been the cause. The symptoms sometimes vary slightly. I now carry this heater in the van as I fit one every couple of weeks. I have always found the machine runs perfectly with the heater completely disconnected. Be warned, this week I fitted a new dryer heater and the machine played up again a day later on a wash after the customer had used the dryer. I checked the insulation – down to 7.5meg from 35 the day before and wasted half an hour checking everything else. Now why didn’t just disconnect the new heater straight way – I should know by now not to trust new parts to always be perfect. In the future my procedure will be lid off and unplug the dryer heater then test!

My Siemens SN53304GB/14 dishwasher is taking an age to fill.

The Venturi is included to comply with water supply regulations which say there must be an ‘air brake’ fitted so no dirty water can flow back into the supply pipe if there is a drop in supply pressure.

Had a the same on a Hotpoint dishwasher today – constant drain no program selected. Imagine my surprise when the base was dry as a bone. On checking the insulation to earth I found the heater was less the .5 meg and causing the symptoms.

    yellow pages

I haven’t advertised in the yellow pages since 1991, but I’m rushed of my feet. I haven’t spent much on advertising for years. I give customers a few cards and ask them to pass them onto friends and neighbours. My local shops including dry cleaners and the local launderette give my cards out to persons in need. Facebook and Which Local are working well at the moment finding me new customers and it doesn’t cost me a penny. I even get the business cards for free as my local printer does not pay when his washing machine breaks down. Word of month has saved me a fortune over the years.
