my jury is still out on the amicas, until they have actually proved themselves. I like them, which is why we run both as an option, and plenty of polish workers round here instantly recognise the brand, and buy them without any need for sales advice, but the fit and finish on the outgoing tacticals just hasnt always felt quite as substantial enough to last quite as many years as some people tell me they should.

that said, im more than happy to give simons enthusiasm for them the benefit of the doubt, but i do notice we have had a higher {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of terminal (i.e exchangeable under warranty) failures on amicas than on the statesman. that also includes 3x f.o.i, compared to 2x f.o.i statesman washer, even tho we have sold 5x times as many statesmans!

    Re: Statesmen whats your view!

ideal for the elder generation of customer who just cant be doing with lots of dials, and hard working for basic family use.

    positives:
=2x ex-employees own them, and 2x of my immediate family have them
=more reliable than hp/zanussi, in fact *touch wood* d/w have been ridiculously reliable so far – done over 150 odd now and not had to been to single one either under or out of guarantee.
    =ideal tenant appliances
=supplied to independants only – so little competition
=hot&cold fill 1200 sells itself to many elder customer with wood burners who dont want just cold fill, and the eco-warriors who have solar heating/wind farms in the garden
=when selling them a washer make sure they keep the brochure. if you drop in the fact you can supply all machines in it, once they buy the washer they will call you back to buy a f/f and d/w off you too.
=people on the phone are nice as pie
=never met the rep myself but i would say the sales office are more eager to get your order rather than pushy. will ring you weekly in case you have forgotton to order anything. i personally like this as were so busy!
=extra long drain hoses make for easy installations where you need it to reach that bit further than a meter, without any hassle of waste extensions.
=you can keep your customer for life due to viable post guarantee repairs:
    split tub washers
affordable next working day del on spares
excellent tech back up (if not calling during their lunchbreak!)
    easy to work on
= so far average bearing life on the 1000/5kg washer is about 5 years based on about 5-6 loads a week.

    negatives:
=not the cheapest on the market to buy trade, but dont be tempted to cut your margin because of this, people will pay a fair price for it, if you can justify it ti them *like i just did above*
=o/o/b system on w/m seems to be more sensitive than other brands, but no issue if you always advise customer what to do before you leave
=on the w/m if your careless enough to not check that the prog selector knob’s line is pointing exactly to the programme you want, you can occasionally select the wrong program
=inlet hoses are bit of a pain, they tighten down further on the tap and that can prevent full opening, so requiring modifying the tap handle, and the long than average solid “neck” on the hose can make installation difficult if pipework is thoughtlessly positioned, and waste elbows are not supplied with machine!

    qer again… 😯

ive always sent my zan/elux/aeg boards to emw… asking for the ones ive sent them to be repaired, ratehr than swapped over, even if it takes a couple of days extra. so far so good – not had a problem with the boards when refitted 🙂

is it not possible that the module might need reconfiguring if qer have just swapped it over ???

Re: Paying For Waste.. BSH Boss Says They Shouldn’t Have To

so why is there not a car-style scheme which forces manufacturers to build a highly recylable machine?

basically they come up with a new model, it gets sent to an independant house that strips it and say out of 100, its given a 3-way {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} breakdown of infinitely recyclable, indefinitely recyclable and unrecyclable.

then the infinite {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} is x by a number and this is removed from a fixed “fee” a la a discount
the indefinite {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} is x by a lower number than above and also removed from the fixed “fee” again a la a discount

the remaining figure is then charged per unit sold as a tax on being unrecyclable.

eg. £100 fixed fee for recycling.

35{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} is infinitely recyclable, (and all these components are currently recycled) therefore 35{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of 100= £35 x say 2 = £70 discount

    25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} is indefinitely recyclable – therefore 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of £100 = £25 discount

therefore £25+70 = 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount on the appliance tax

however u build a machine thats less recyclable then of course your tax rises…
