    Re: looking for advice

lol thats like 40 years ago!

in the last 6 years i havent had to uplift, replace, or even have a serious customer complaint about one yet, and the only repairs have been user impatience… and we had sold a fair few!

    Re: fitting cooker hood

no there shouldnt be one directly fitted over the h/l cooker

if you do put one in with the required space between then it will appear very high, and out of place/ugly.

i cant remember the exact measurements but i think they used to state the minimum required height betwen top of the grill and a unit etc in the new world 50hlg user manual iirc. i can check if you want tomorrow when im delivering one 🙂

weird how its always the indesits where the bearings, electronics or concrete blocks have survived past 2 years, that means they get writtenoff by the less usual issues…

he shouldnt have been a tightwad landlord then! id say put a zanussi in but theyve just shot up a huge leap in trade price for us, sounless you can pick up a zanussi w/d for under £300 net (in which case tell me where too) for a smidge extra he could get a bosch, anything else washer dryer wise below the level of the bosch isnt worth having unless you can find a fagor…

i see where this is heading…

with regards to this, if we declined the fit because we werent happy with the lack of componentry would we still be allowed to insist on payment because the customer requested connection, as opposed to part p?

ha looks like the flat part of a dishwasher filter.

ulikely tho! btw who owns the machine? the tenant or the landlord? because if its owned by the landlord and was put it for the tenant rather than the tenant buying it, then she wont have much say in what happens and the landlord will prololy replace with another crappy machine

on most tenanted callouts we are asked to state whether we feel its general wear&tear/fault with the machine or if its misuse. most of the time its the former but if not and there nice as pie then even if theres a more than a hint of misuse ill tend to still claim its poor design… however ive found if the tenants really stroppy acts like your the lowest and theyre so much higher above you, then if theres any issue of misuse its reported back to the landlord as abused. 😈

cheers for that, assuming that’ll be the reason why the customers since told me it wasnt washing the top rack properly before it went

Re: Wiring in a new oven.

    my 2 pennies are:

free if cooker/oven bought from us at time of delivery.
£48.00 exc. vat for connection, test and demo (no cooker already there)
£72.00 exc. vat if its also disconnection and disposal, anything less and ill go out of business selling new goods!

£ 4.95 inc. vat per 1.5m if required

the biggest excuse ive heard from comet&currys teams is that the switch doesnt isolate the cooker point. weirdly the customers always feel that the team that delivered it were in a hurry, and if I have to get my electrician to look at it he so far has always stated theres nothing wrong with it.

Re: Baumatic BWD121 price of parts

i think it must be to recoop what they were paying out for the 5 year warrantys…

a few months back i had to look up a rim for a f/s fagor, was £25-30ish trade. had a quick peek and already had identical part that i had got from connect for £5-something 3years ago when they first took on the contract… :rolls:

Re: bosch int dw – sgs56a03gb/40

i will blame my hideous toothache as the reason why i somehow put the wrong model no down. its an sgv56a03gb/40

    apologies!

and cheers so far – also phonecam is now fixed so heres the actual board and the damaged components, please note the tracks are a-ok i only ringed it to show which the triac was running off of.

now i just gotta get myself repaired 🙁

is it also quite common for the instanteous heaters’ alternating motors to fail then cos we replaced a 6 year old f/s bosch d/w about 6 months ago which one day just would not turn on – same symptom as this one. customer had already declined any repair but we did have a quick look into refurbing it for s/h, but the board had a similarly positioned triac blown out so we didnt waste any more time on it knowing how much the boards were… but this was prior to experiencing emw’s service 🙂
