ParticipantRe: Baumatic BWD121 price of parts
if its a bwd12.1, then the parent fagor bits are about 1/3rd price from connect…

ParticipantRe: AEG dw – F50860M – flashing on startup…
it was indeedy.
went to emw.
came back
superb service.
fitted and ran full diagnostics, no component failure that could be found, so ran it thru 3 times on 3 progs, delivered back and now chugg chugging away.
so thank you to the kind person at emw that made another persons day. still baffled as to why it went tho, because emw couldnt really explain what had to be done… 😯

ParticipantRe: sdw60p…
not sure. its days away from its years warranty. so its probably a sdw60pc, but it is graded so it might be one of the earlier ones. either way it seems the rework team have removed the original sticker with the serial and ind code

ParticipantRe: Exploding Fridges
not being samsung and never having sold samsung refrigeration, its a bit hazy to me but i was under the impression that it was due to a faulty batch of defrost heaters popping holes in the gas channels. i hear what you say, and see your point that as an idea its well away from a sensible match but that doesnt detract from the fact that the currently affected models are by far and away in the minority of the number of machines out there.
surely, assuming each component is of reasonable condition, this should never be a real problem?
maybe the manufacturers need to revise the electronics to the point where if any electrical component can fail that can cause damage to teh gas channels, then it knocks out a part of electronics – much like the electrical spike thread suggested – i know it wont be popular with customers, but if it stops people replacing plug fuses or/and trip switchs then it must be safer?

ParticipantRe: oxy’balls
ive never once claimed ive had a skin allergy to soap powder, but if any gets on my hands, and after rinsing/drying fairly thoroughly ive missed a bit, why do they locally itch 10-15 mins later ?
as a self test ive deliberately not rinsed my hands afterwards and they feel just as bad, i would say worse, but i imagine the increase of contact makes it seem that way.
it cant surely be psychosomatic can it?

ParticipantRe: Connect Guarantee
the handlign costs are for the people who guess their problems
the number of parts ive had that have clearly been opened and resealed really annoy me, its fine if ive ordered it to fit myself but if its for a customer, they can get quite funny about already opened packets. so the unreasonable handling charge is to discourage the fit and hope brigade from racking up so many open spares. personally i rarely have to send spares back to connect (new goods, yes) and its almost always usually when the customer misdiagnoses, orders a bit which turns out to not be needed, and then expects a full refund back… cos “it doesnt work”

ParticipantRe: Connect Guarantee
something to do with bringing it in line with the manufacturers warranties on parts, which were only usually 3 months. it was up to 6 months for the last few years tho,
however as it has already been pointed out to me by our rep, there are ways round the connect returns system, assuming u were less than honest…

ParticipantRe: Homark Oven dial marks erased
if you can take a picture of the front of it and upload it so we have a way of seeing the spacing to assertain how many functions have been erased.
chances are, if theres only one space erased, itll be a fan oven/fan assisted oven function, obviously depending on whether or not there is a fan in it.
if there isnt a fan then its likely to be a lower element only or half grill.

ParticipantRe: AEG dw – F50860M – flashing on startup…
also has no visible burn outs on pcb.
is this model prone to smegstyle interferance from the suppressor and/or dispenser corrupting the board?

ParticipantRe: AEG dw – F50860M – flashing on startup…
🙁
same test procedure as what i have already tried it seems
constant flashing of all lights
unable to reset program
unable to enter diagnostics – the first 3 leds light up but never start to flash, and then the secodn you take your fingers off it reverts back to all leds flashing.
oddly enough, if you just switch it down and do led 1 + 3 at any stage during the flashing u get the frist 3 leds light up.
hold down sw1 on its oen and all 5 leds light up
hold down sw2 on its own and all the rinseaid/salt/etc leds light up.at no stage is there a display on the lcd panel.
no component appears open circuit or faulty – have manually gone thru all connections, testing with each comp disconnected and then tested after reconneciton.
incidentally it was full of sweetcorn kernals and pepper husk, but ive checked clearness in every channel. the only liquid in it is in the salt/regen chamber.
any ideas people, anyone come across this before either? cos im at a loss, really hope its not the pcb as thats almost £200 inc vat – trade. GULP.
HELP!!!!
