Re: Smeg d/w DI612C upper spray arm seal

That’s what I thought until I saw it. This spray arm definitely has a seal in it.
I don’t think the seal was the issue anyway. The customer was convinced it was the seal that was the problem for not cleaning properly. But I cleaned the spray arms and haven’t heard since, but I guarantee you, this upper spray arm had a seal in it, just like some of the Hoover/candy dishwashers.
    Thanks anyway

Don’t worry, I think I’ve discovered it must be Awo10761

Re: Whirlpool door seal AWO 10781

Great, an hour and 20 min round trip to get a number from a machine. Is there not one or two versions that would be likely to fit, that I could order.
The lady is in her 90s and wheelchair bound… it took 15 minutes for her to read me the model number……arrgghh
I’m having one of those days..
    Thanks

Thanks Ken, looking at the link though, those elements are all lower heating elements and not grill elements.

Does that make it harder to get being older. I’ve had quite a few hinges recently for 10+ year old ones.
I’ve sent an email to Britannia but I don’t want to pay retail. I could just do with part numbers, if anybody can help.

They can’t find any other info other than the rating plate with nothing but the VAC230 KW56 etc. I did ask for a year code but they couldn’t see it anywhere. They are an old couple. They did say they have had the oven about 10 years but you know what customers are like. “I’ve had it 3 years”, you have a look at the FD no. etc and its 10 years old!!

I have to say, I use these brushes quite a lot. I buy the genuine C00312014. They work out cheaper than the car69. They fit some of the Whirlpool, Hoover, Candy as well as Hotpoint/Indy. Always carry about 3 pairs on the van. Like other have said, if they are the other way around and I don’t have the correct pair, I either file them down with sandpaper or fit into the other holes. Never had a problem yet.

Yeah, it was only taking the right hand side off and watching it run for 15 mins that I spotted it. First thing I look for now. I think the new version has been modified but any of the older(ish) ones like these, its my first port of call.

Ive had loads of sump hoses go on these machines. They don’t always show up straight away but when it gets hot and subtle the tiny hole near the seam opens up. (sump to heater hose) I always carry one on the van now.

Re: Capel DI626 Dishwasher not heating.

I managed to squeeze the job in today to take a look and the heater is definately open circuit, so I’ve got one on the way. Is it a straight forward job? Looking at it I’ll probably have to remove the right side and move the pcb out of the way, then it looks like it’s just screwed in.
I’ve never done one before and god knows why it completes a cycle!!!

Thats all the lady has, the sticker has come off the door and thats all she has written down from the previous homeowner. I know its a 9 function knob in brass. I think i’ve found that and the main oven hinges on connect with the first part of the model number but its really now the smaller oven door.
    Cheers

Its like electrofix says, its either bent hinges or the baskets are in wrong way around / loose wheel stuck in the runner.
The door may have been stood on by a child when open. I have in the past bent them back into shape a little by placing a small handled screwdriver next to the hinge at the bottom and pressing the door against it, pushing the door at the top. Repeat for both sides. Not the ideal solution but would give you an idea if it is the hinges or not.

Yes I know, I always count March as my quietest month but just not as quiet as this. April can be hot and miss with Easter. To be fair it is up and down, day today but looking in the diary for the last two years there is definitely a drop.
It’s picked up again today but could die again tomorrow. Let’s hope Aprils a better one.
