Participantyou could try warming it up with a hairdryer, it helps
helo_75
Participantand make sure the plugs out!!!

Participantok, at the rear of the dryer, theres a banjo shaped panel
there, thats where it is, youll see screws all the way around, and two small screws on that panel, near the top
there, thats them really easy to find, 1 panel iff, and release it with 2 screws, the thermostats are over the heater

Participantjust check the motor plug
is the drum turning at all?
helo_75
Participantif the pump runs, its either breaking down under load, or there is definately a blockeage, be that in the sump (which isnt the grey pipe) or the end where it attatches under the sink!?! (if it isnt in a standpipe)
hope this helps
helo_75
Participantmight not be the drain pipe
its usually the sump hose clogged or pump jammed
with the plug out , remove the lower white back panel – the sump is the black pipe at the bottom of the drum, just be ready with towels and a mop, the waters gotta go somewhere
check the pump housing too (the pums on the right, attatched to the black pipe)
of course, it might be worth dropping the waste hose into a bucket, lower than the water level.. if water comes out, its the sump/pump
oh, and watch for sharp edges, and try not to spill any water on anything electrical.. i.e the motor!!!
hope this helps

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZK57/38 breakdown
i know just my way of saying it want worth it 😆
pity really, the older zanussi stuff is better than most of todays machines
helo_75
Participantand your considering a repair? insanity
helo_75
Participanthey, you never know… dont take my comments too much to heart, im only trying to help
the most important thing is the fact that your up and running, lets not forget that
incidentally, i do work for one of the big companies you mentioned, and its always a difficult job to be in, constant pressure to keep costs down, whilst still maintaining a high performance ratio, and i dont know any engineer who actually carries a compressor as stock
you can always refer back to us if you need anymore advice… i just hope you found this site helpful
good luck
