Do you have the access runtime installed?
Can you give us a screen shot of the error or any other information?
Is Microsoft Access Installed on the PC?
When is it crashing?I will start with those questions and go from there based on your answer.

The other thing that comes to mind for me is has the relay on the board for the element gone and welded its contacts in the on position? You would only be able to tell with a multimeter – if it has then try giving the relay a few sharp smacks on the top and it should/may release, if it does then you need to replace the relay or it will do it again.

Apparently so according to the service manual – it is either motor or the control system for the motor – it is basically a re-badged Electrolux machine.

I shall have to remember that for next time I come across one of these (not that I have ever done any fibre glassing yet), this particular machine ended up scrapped.

Well if one of them isn’t an On/Off button then it may be a manual detergent dispenser, the other one I would have thought would be a program start (Usually hold for 2 or 3 seconds to get the program running then release).

I don’t know anything about this particular make but have worked on a couple of glass washers so will assume that it is the same principle. If it is still running with the door open then I would be checking that the reed switch is working and if that works then you will probably find that it is controlling a relay which may have got stuck in the on position (welded contacts), the green button is probably a click on click off power button and I would guess that the yellow one is a momentary button that you use to start the 2 or 3 minute program.

Check the insulation of the drying element – if it is below 40Meg then it can cause these machines to get tetchy.

Turns out that is leaking from next to one of the concrete weight supports – it is only a pinhole leak but the damn thing won’t seal no matter how much metal putty I put on it – I have now put some more on and covered that with debor and left it to set overnight so we will see what happens in the morning – if it continues to leak then I am into damage limitation as far as my reputation goes.

ParticipantRe: Indesit W855WG – Bearing Change
there is a bracket that goes over the heater about a quarter of the way in from the front but it doesn’t appear to be these bolts that are leaking (unless it has another that I haven’t yet found) but something right on the front edge.

yes heater comes out with backplate – you mean that it would have rusted itself to the tub and then caused a hole on removal?

ParticipantRe: Indesit W855WG – Bearing Change
Well I have changed the bearings on this today with the only hiccup in the actual bearing change being that I hadn’t realised that the spider was riveted to the drum and would take a fair bit of cursing/swearing and drilling before it would release. I made sure that the clamp band was tight and that it does not leak from either band or gasket of bearing hub – unfortunately it appears that something else has decided to start leaking but I am struggling to work out what.
The leak appears to originate somewhere at the front of the machine as it is a drip off of the very front edge of the tub onto the concrete block then the floor (Front centre), I have pulled the door seal back but couldn’t find any damp/damage there – I have also checked the inlet hose to the tub and again found no damp, same with the sump hose – in desperation I have put talc powder directly under/around each item but it isn’t getting wet – does anyone have any thoughts on this (Other than scrap as this lady owner wants it fixed) – my only other thought which I haven’t yet had time to fully check out is if there may be a pinhole rust spot behind the front weight if so how could I seal it?
Thank you

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool top loader 3RLSQ8000JQ2 Oil on the coupling
I haven’t had to replace the seals in one of these gearboxes but I have stripped one down, they are not that difficult to do but are easier done on a workbench with a tray to catch/drain the oil into.
The part No’s for the seals are:
481953278121 Motor Coupling seal
481946669833 Inner output shaft gasket
481946669834 Outer output shaft gasket
481939038023 Sealant for the two body half’s (I think)PM me an e-mail address and I can send you a copy of the Direct Drive Manual which goes into detail of how it works and I can also send you an exploded diagram for the gearbox.

The trade sealant is called “Debor”, I believe that it is designed to withstand the detergents used in washing machines and dishwashers, it dries to a sort of rubbery consistency.

Thanks for the help guys – will be going to attack the machine on Wednesday, I guessed that it shouldn’t be to bad a job but thought I would check about anything that would catch me out first.
