    Re: Hotpoint Sealed Drum Replacement

I did wonder if it was too good to be true.

Do you know of any other part number or which part numbers I would need to build/buy a whole assembly?

    Thank you

    Thank you all

Never got back to the machine as I had a phone call to say that it had started working correctly (for how long?) and to not bother going back till it failed again which is fine by me.

Re: Hotpoint WT960 Control Board Relay

Just thought that I would close this one off.

Saw the machine middle of last week and found no problems with heater insulation or continuity and no problems with the NTC either, the relay was not stuck in the on position (it is a fault that I have seen in other appliances that have “overheated”), crimped all the connections and so far all appears ok as the customer hasn’t come back to say that it has failed again and I waited more than long enough when testing it for it fail.

Thank you all for your help.

Thank you all for your help, I finally got back to the machine today, it turns out that the economy switch had failed short circuit (if only I had tested it the first time I was there) :bang: , I have replaced it with a second hand one from a scrap machine and all is now well.

Re: Hotpoint WM63 – No Heat

I sent to EMW because I wasn’t expecting a timer fault when I first went to the job and it was just as quick to send it for test/repair as to order an exchange unit, the test fee is £5.87 for a NFF – if there is a fault and you get it repaired then the test fee is waived and you just pay for the exchange/repaired unit as normal. It costs no more or less to have a unit tested than it does to order and then return an exchange unit.

I was supposed to go back today to have another look but as our road is only passable by a 4×4 I think that it will have to wait.

Thank you for all the help/suggestions.

I hope that I haven’t overlooked the switch – I am sure that I looked at the front and made sure that there were none selected but it is always possible that I have made a mistake – I hope to make it back there tomorrow – I will be most annoyed if that is all that it is.

From memory I think that this one only has a wash pump – so you think that if I gave it longer to heat it might then kick in the wash motor again?

    Thank you

    Re: Lamber/Newscan N5 350E Glasswaher

Apologies that it has taken so long for me to get back to you.

This is one of those machines that has never worked since before the current owner took over the premises. I have already had to wire up the level switch by guesswork, there is one wire coming from live, one going to the thermostats and one going to somewhere else (possibly timer), all the individual components appear to work ok when tested, when I turn it on then it will fill and the wash motor runs, however even though it fills ok it never activates the level switch to say that it is full – I have checked the hose and switch and cant find any blockages/leaks and have tried tilting the machine forwards slightly to try and force activation but it doesn’t, if I bypass the switch then it turns the wash motor and fill valve off but turns the heater on.

I don’t normally deal with glass washers but am trying to help a friend out – should it run the motor when filling? and why doesn’t it run it when heating? – I suspect that someone may have played with it before me which is why I would like a wiring diagram so that I can check to see if they have mucked it up.

    Thank you

Re: Hotpoint dryer CTD80 wiring diagram

Have just had a call about one of these with an “F10” error and would like to go armed.

Can some one send me the info please and can any one tell me what the difference is between the 2 thermostat kits (what is the difference between the black and white thermistors and are they interchangeable)?

    Thank you

Re: Whirlpool Top Loader – Identification Needed

Had a look at this one again this morning – it won’t spin with a load in the drum but it will without, the new clutch looks fine though it feels like it is getting hot (should it get hot?), I am wondering now whether it also has a gear box fault (though it feels like there is no slip at all when I turn it by hand) or whether the bearings have gone (though it is not noisy and again feels ok turning it by hand). I am a bit stumped by this one now and would appreciate any help/guidance that you guys/girls can give me.

If it is a gearbox fault then I guess that I will need to replace/top up the oil – what oil is suitable for this?

If it is a bearing fault then what tip/trick is there to undoing the notched nut that holds the drum down or is there a suitable tool that I can buy in this country that will fit it?

    Thank you

Re: Whirlpool Top Loader – Identification Needed

After doing more research I found a table that tells me how whirlpool makes the model numbers, putting the data that I do know into the table gives me “??G?C94???Q”, when I then put it into SIOS then the only machine that matches that data is “3RGSC9455JQ” (the same machine as eastlmark said). 😯

Unfortunately I have had a call back to it as it won’t spin under load (they didn’t have anything to put into it when I was there with the new clutch), it does spin when empty (which is an improvement on when I first saw it) – has anyone got any more ideas as to what could be causing this?

    Thank you

Re: Hotpoint WM63 – Lack of Spin

Turned out that Odom was right, one of the new brushes had jammed in its holder – took it out and unjammed it, even though I cannot get it to jam again I decide to put another new set in (from a different supplier). I am now waiting for the customer to run it through several washes successfully before I file this one as “Fixed”.

    Thank you all

Hadn’t thought of that one – will have a good look tomorrow when I next go to see it.

Re: Hotpoint WM63 – Lack of Spin

They were moving quite happily when I left it and were not a tight fit in the holder – indeed the spring was making them want to escape but I do have another set in stock so will take them with me just in case.
