    Re: Whirlpool D/W..4 flashes?

I think from memory that I had one that the pressure switch in the sump was so full of fat that it wasn’t returning to the empty position within time, I wasn’t able to clean it out although you may be able to using a bit of hot water, I ended up changing it to cure the fault.

If it is the carcass that I think it is then it will be the energy regulators, elements either heat or they don’t.

Re: LG washing machine Rotors & Stators + Hall Sensor

If the rotor is coming loose then has it stripped the splines off of the plastic hub in the middle of the rotor? If so then the noise could be the remains of the splines slipping on the shaft (unless it is a completely different noise that you are talking about), the way to test if it is slipping is to hold the drum and try rotating the rotor – if it moves then the splines have gone.

I may be barking up completely the wrong tree but thought that I would throw the idea in there for you.

    Re: WHIRLPOOL 3LSR6233EQ1 DRUM SEIZED.

    Is it a Top Loader?

Assuming that it is a top loader then the drum has an automatic brake on it.
Does it agitate the central shaft during the wash cycle? if it does then it is probably the clutch and if it doesn’t then it will be the three piece coupling.

P.S. To remove the agitator you need to unclip the detergent dispenser off of it and look down the middle, there should be a plastic cap to remove which gives access to the bolt.

Re: How to measure a belt?

Sounds like I have been lucky then as I have had a 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} success rate with just refitting the belt so this was the first one for a while that I had had to replace (don’t seem to need washer belts that often down here so rarely have them stocked) – It was only when I was replacing this one that I wondered if there was a simple trick to tell if they were gone or not but it doesn’t seem like.

    Thanks all

does it lock the door as soon as it is turned on? if it does then it is probably a short circuit triac on the board.

    Re: Lux w/m EWX14440w says ED4 fault

Yes it can do – lux machines get tetchy if anything drops below an insulation resistance of 40Meg – if you do a search on here for ‘ed4’ you will find that in 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of cases it will be the drying element that cures it. My first thing would be to insulation test the machine to confirm this as it is the most likely cause although it is possible for it to be other things.

Do an insulation test on the drying element – if it is below 40Meg then change it, you could also disconnect it to prove that it is that part at fault, also check the wash element but it is more likely to be a drying element.

Re: Panasonic NN-A574SBBTQ Microwave – Convection Fan

I thought that it probably should as I couldn’t see any difference between it and the grill otherwise – looks like I am going to have to quote a replacement control board then as it goes to a Panasonic own brand processor.

    Thank you for the confirmation

Re: Panasonic NN-A574SBBTQ Microwave – Convection Fan

All the heat is supplied by the 2 quartz heaters in the roof (there are no other elements in it) – the fan that isn’t turning is also in the roof, the options are “Grill”, “Convection”, “Microwave”, “Combination”

I thought “Convection” was a strange name but it isn’t quite a fan oven either.

Re: How to measure a belt?

I took a guess that it was a stretch belt but the old one felt OK when I put it on and I couldn’t really feel any slack hence why I wondered whether there was a way of measuring whether the belt was good or not.

I had heard that some belts were conductive though I have never got round to testing it.

Another random thought – is there a standard tension for belts?
