thanks Chris you were right it did disp soap but motor didnt start just hummed removed lwr front plate to inspect motor it was red hot suspect somthing stuck or motor seized do you have to remove base fully to get motor out how long time wise

clean and grease shaft should do the trick but might need bottom bearing eay to fit

thanks for advice i have split motor the copper leads on the brushes are moulded to the ring what method do use to re attatch and trying to re assemble looks hard to take tension of brushes to stop them fouling armature
