He’s right you know, ( well he would be, wouldn’t he) 😉

It is in the parts list but it doesn’t show it in the diagram.

I have never seen a blockage cause the terminals to burn, as I said you have just been unlucky, possibly the original connection was not perfectly made, however it would do no harm to check for any obstruction inside the pump.

I have just had a rummage and have found an old plastic rivet without the metal pin, if it is any use I can post it to you. Don’t know of a part number for this item though.

To be honest, if you are in a hard water area and do a 90° wash every week you should not get drum support corrosion, however the drum support on Indesit machines is one of the thinnest in current use.

Here is a picture of a drum support from a Hotpoint machine, the water in this area is very soft and using liquids plus low temperature washes can cause this damage in only three or four years. The Indesit drum support is about half as thick this as this one. 😥

    Any Ideas?

There is no ‘electronic’ thing near the pump. The pump itself has a whilte moulded cover and the body of the pump can be encased in a black plastic cover. As I said it is possible to fit two normal spade terminals in place of the original block as long as you isolate them from each other.

Have a look at the small picture here ( it will enlarge a little) this is the complete pump from your machine.

Have a good read of this article before you plump for LG. http://tinyurl.com/zez8h

Then ask yourself if you cannot possibly find room for a separate dryer. There is only one advantage to a washer/dryer, they save space and nothing else, there are many drawbacks to having a washer/dryer but if you really cannot avoid having one then you should look to Bosch or other BSH group products before LG.

If the belt is in situ then it is almost certain there is nothing at all wrong with it. I would still bet the Penguin is correct, are you in a soft water area and do you mainly do low temperature washes? I had an Indesit machine that had a drum support failure at 18 months old last week. If the drum support has snapped then you will be in need of a replacement in a very short time. 😥

You should be able to replace both wires with separate spade connectors. You must make sure that they are insulated from each other with a plastic sheath before you refit them. Not a common fault, just bad luck I guess. Plug out at all times when you are working on the machine.

Eeprom part number is C00094742, comes pre programmed. An e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should do the trick.

Codes for these eeproms are closely guarded by the Indesit Company and only their engineers have the software on their laptops to programme blank eeproms.

You don’t want to know, to be honest I’m shocked they even have that word in the spell checker. 😳 IeSpell uses the built in spellchecker.

    Re: Indesit 1500 WIL 153

If it is insured up until 2009 then you may as well stick with it, some years ago Indesit machines had a reputation for being cheap and cheerful, very basic, inexpensive parts etc. Sadly that has not been the case for some time now. The electronics in these machines are more complex than they need to be but are also very unreliable and expensive at the same time. I would be interested to know what the ‘top brand’ machine was that you refer to. Also when you say, a ‘well known shop’ I take you mean what we in the trade call the sheds. 😥 Very few independent dealers will sell Indesit appliances these days, unlike the sheds they are really interested in their customers, the sheds make more money from stitching you up with the insurance contract than they do from selling you the machine.

You only need to enter Indesit, Ariston or Hotpoint in this forums search facility to see what I mean. 😥

Unlike more ‘recent’ technologies such as PC’s, DVD’s VCR’s and the like that inevitably come down in price when R & D costs are absorbed, the humble washing machine is still a drum, motor, heater, pump, control system, hoses and a few other bits & bobs. Likewise your car is still an internal combustion engine, a gearbox and a wheel at each corner.
They are both basically ‘old’ technology that you can tweak about a little.

25 years ago a good quality washer would have cost between £200 & £300, the average family car say £3500 to £4000. Fast forward to today and you can buy a washer for less than £190, what price your average family car?

It is no coincidence that the cheap washing machines are now very unreliable, poorly constructed, throw away junk, whilst the quality of your average car has never been better.
