Re: Hotpoint DF61 not cleaning properly

It really is open it up time, however access to the internals on this Bosch produced machine is difficult, definately not a DIY job. Fault could be internal hoses gunged up or circulation pump impellor coming adrift. Plug out if you intend to proceed or try the link below to see if we have someone who can help.

Just to update this thread, the modified heater box listed above is no longer available, the new parts number is 1605710. however it is reported that pre date code 54 machines need eeprom reprogramme if this part is fitted. 😥

The latest version of Partfinder still shows the info pointing towards a 1605230 as the correct part but as you say it is NLA. However looking up the heater assy for the WD860 which is the same, informs you that that the heater has been changed back to the spiral type and the complete assy is NLA. They have also gone back to the thermal fuse in the sheath. The four way valve & flushing kit has been re introduced together with a metal fan blade to replace the plastic one.

I guess you will have to check it out and order the individual parts as required.

PS. I have amended that original thread.

Re: Hotpoint Ultima WMA60 – pump problem help!

It sounds like it may be time to call the cavalry, pump and associated wiring will need testing electrically before anything else, then its gets a bit harder from there on in, There is always a possibilty that the two wires had shorted, this may have damaged the control module. You did check to see if the pump would rotate manually? It should flick round in 1/4 turn increments.

Worth remembering that this machine will be covered by Hotpoint’s five year parts guarantee, you will have to pay the rather high labour charge though. You could try the link below to see if we have someone who can help.

Either the float chamber is full or blocked, the float micro switch is faulty or the pump may have failed.

Very true, there is a good chance your Siemens W/D will have Red Dwarf and pasta connections. 😉

Apart from the fact that the Electrolux group which includes Zanussi, Bendix & AEG amongst others have now introduced a one piece, sealed outer drum on many of their recent machines. This means that there is no bearing or drum shaft repair, also should you be unlucky enough to lose a sock, bra wire, coin or similar object between the inner & outer drum and be unable to retrieve it from either the heater or sump hose apertures you would need a complete drum replacement. 😥
