So I take it that Fairy do recommend rinse aid on one hand but don’t on the other. πŸ˜• :rolls: πŸ™‚

    Re: On reflection,

I deleted a post yesterday from pto, it was adding nothing to the thread and was quite brusque.
He’s at it again, there is no need for this.

    Should I just delete it?

    Jim.

I’m going to bin it, this is what he posted.

What’s that got to do with it?
Telling them or being it makes
No difference we all have to pay

Had to wait until today, not owning a dishwasher. Had a good look at a packet of Active Bursts in Iceland. There is no mention anywhere on the packet recommending usage of rinse aid. In fact quite the opposite. It says your dishwasher will work fine even if the rinse aid and salt lights are showing. It also says you do not need to use salt in 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of cases, unless your water hardness is above 26Β°e.

Slightly OT, but the new packaging and advertising for Ariel washing tablets is now covered in, TURN IT DOWN TO 30Β°. A cheap and easy way to espouse green credentials. If people do that it this very soft water area it will play havoc with the alloy drum supports. Again there is no mention anywhere on the new packaging to advise customers to do maintenance wash.

Yes, there are one or two Firefox groupies on another forum I frequent, know it all, PITA’s most of them, always droning on about how good it is, etc.

Not that I would include Ken in that group, :rolls: πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜†

Aapparently the new fonts can look a bit fuzzy on non LCD screens. It looks very clean and crisp on my LCD screen. Even this forum seems to load faster. It has Firefox type Tabs, anti phishing screening etc. Auto update should be rolling out but you can get it now by using Windows Update on the Tools menu.

F07 does mean ‘relay has stuck’, as opposed to F08, ‘relay cannot be activated’. I think the Hotpoint machines have a thermal cut out inside the heater, not sure about their Italian cousins though, I guess this would trip as soon as the heater came on without water in the drum. ❓

Possibly a blocked/gunged up float chamber, fiddly strip down to clean out though.

Well I have yet to be convinced, πŸ˜‰

I now have 40 of these babies on my patch. barring illness or holidays ( whats one of those ) they are my responsibilty from day one. Had my customers all gone of to Comet etc, they would no doubt have bought whatever the salesman was pushing, possibly got stitched up with an extortionate maintenance package etc. In short I would have lost most of those customers for 3 to 5 years. Now they are in my clutches, ah the power, ( rubs hands in a Uriah Heap kind of way). One or two minor glitches but the customers love them. 8)

You could try pressing and holding the Start/Cancel button for a few seconds to see if you can clear the memory. Failing that it may be time to take advantage of your 5 year parts guarantee and phone Hotpoint.

Count the number of flashes between pauses from the mains neon, then check it against the Indesit fault codes in the Known Error codes thread.

Page #2, post by lotusray ( I have added Creda to the post ) πŸ™‚

I would get the client to put some castors on it, it will be coming out on a regular basis until it is replaced with a decent quality machine.

However an engineer has looked at the machine and cannot determine the fault – he has advised it may be best to try replacing the module (the part with the lights at thr front) at a cost of Β£100+

If a module is faulty, and it is worth stating that the electronics on these machines are notoriously unreliable, it is more than likely that the main module in the base and not the control module ‘with the lights’ is at fault.

PIPY. There are no service diagrams available, even to the trade. The flashing lights are at best a rough guide. Proper fault diagnosis is via a special hardware key, costing around Β£130, you also need a laptop enabled with the special software, EMIT/Washdoctor, again only available to Indesit/Hotpoint engineers. πŸ˜₯ Come the revolution, the general public may eventually realise that purchasing cheap, over complicated, unreliable Italian made appliances is not the best option in the long term. Sadly, the ‘throw away society’ of today are still a long way from redemption.
