ModeratorRe: Trade Place
I actually had a look over the weekend, even tried to register. However it appears that you cannot gain unrestricted access to all makes, only ones from manufacturers that you hold accounts with. I have used Partfinder for years but don’t know my account number so was unable to proceed past the third or fourth step of registration.iadom

1701583 is the stat kit. 😉
Can also be caused by the door frame mounted stat failing.

ModeratorRe: How embarrassing
Oh dear, just had this customer on the phone, machine worked fine for last few days then yesterday went on the blink. 😥
Customer reports that machine appears to over fill then goes into drain whilst still continuing to fill. Machine is in gargage with proper secure standpipe ruling out syphoning as a cause.
Going to it after lunch. I do hope it is not the pressure switch that is faulty, just checking the box of spares that I have not had to touch yet, found that it does not contain a pressure switch, perhaps that is something that could be added.
With an apparent module fault on the first machine and now this, she may not think the machine is great for much longer. 😳

ModeratorRe: CREDA Reversair tumble not drying
It sounds as though you have a model 375440001L, not a 37544M001Q.
On the 37544M there should be two thermostats above the heating element housing. If it is the earlier 375440001L then it will have two wires on the right hand side of the element casing, attached to a single thermostat with a visible bi-metal cut out. This does not appear to be in the shop but is part number 1740235 or better still, a generic TOC08 is what you need.
As I mentioned in my first post, checking with the correct test equipment before you change any parts is the only way to be certain, regardless of which type of thermostat is in situ.
NB. The L50C stat is the exhaust stat situated in the front venting duct whilst the stats that fail commonly are at the back, close to the heating element. you may have ordered the correct parts but are looking in the wrong place for the faulty ones.
A bit remiss of me but I should remind you to make sure you remove the mains plug when you have your hands inside.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint BFI620 – Error Code???
The main problem with this repair, is the type of clip used to secure the heater unit to the hoses. Very difficult to replace the original ones. I have heard that your local Vauxhall garage does stock the ‘thin’ jubilee clips that are the best solution.
Plug out and lie it on its left hand ( from the front ) side, with the mains plug remove first of course.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint DF22P Cycle Time
You should have asked here first, 😉 Strange as it may seem the timer itself is one of the last things to cause extended wash times. This is a basic machine with no electronics. There are faults that can stop this machine from advancing, such as faulty fill valves, heater, breaks in wiring etc, but they will not slow it down, it will stick and not advance at all. The main causes of excessively long programme times are poor fill pressure, and possible drain outlet faults. The timer moves at exactly 60 secs per impulse except when the machine is heating. Excluding the Prewash setting there are 50 impulses during a normal wash cycle, the water is heated to 65° or 50° depending on programme selected. On the Superwash setting this can occur three times during a full cycle, leading to long wash times. Whilst three hours is a bit on the long side, have you actually timed this accurately. Generally, if this machine is going through to the end of the cycle and finishing the programme then it is not faulty.
As they say, “A watched pot, never boils” 🙂

That is the date that your dryer came out of the factory gates. A rough guide to age but not often that far out.
I was only joking about getting him to put his hand in his pocket. 8) 🙂

DDSDDS wrote: it will flash 8 times and be a heater relay fault
Whilst 8 flashes is supposed to signify a heater relay fault, in practice it can be, module, NTC, pressure switch, loose wiring, the way the wind is blowing, etc :rolls: . One of the more ambiguous faults and often difficult to pin down. 😥

The Red Devils are now the only team in the league with a 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} record.
Rooney & Scholes back for next game against a team already looking like relegation candidates. 😉 😆
Thats the way to kick start your season, four or five games against teams of Southern Jessies. 😛

When you say you are an engineer, do you mean in this trade? If so you will find a large amount of useful help and advice in the trade forums. I would strongly advise you to register.

When the timer knob starts to rotate, the mains neon will start to flash a set number of times, pause then flash again. You need to count the sequence, this is an error code.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint DWF 70 shorts out electrics
The quickest and easiest way to eliminate the plug is to cut off the old plug and put a new plug onto the cable. If you do not feel that you can do this then pleae make sure you get someone who has the required skills. Moulded plugs can sometimes short across inside but if you had a flood that reached the plug then you have to take into account that most of the gubbins on a dishwasher is in the base. Any flood above 6 inches ( sorry don’t do metric) will almost certainly have covered most of the main components in your dishwasher.
It is not advisable to keep trying it whilst it is tripping the circuit breakers, this can lead to further damage.
Click the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help.
