    Re: Indesit D66

I think that overflow pipe has been altered on later models, 3 in1 or 4 in 1 tablets are a common cause of oversoaping and leaking into the base on these machines, float switch should have tripped before water got to motor so make sure that is operating correctly.

Also remember that the low end Zanussi now have the dreaded completely sealed outer drum which will no doubt creep into the whole model range in the future. 😥

Unfortunately your only course of action now is the old fashioned telephone. 😥

NAH, got a couple just in case 😉

Did you ever pop one on an electric hob and heat it up to confirm it was the cause of intermittant spin on wash? Used to happen often on the 1600, that looks like an 1850 PMC though.

We could start a thread with pictures of old and obscure parts and give a star to the first one to ID them. 😀

Ah, I couldn’t see a cable but I didn’t want to appear too interested, a couple of your colleagues were bearing down on me, so I moved on before I said something to offend them. Mind you I could not resist asking one of them if I needed to take out a five year cover on the £4.99 connector I had just purchased. :rolls: 😆

A ribbon cable, through the hinge, trouble brewing there methinks. 😉

Do you mean a user manual? If not then please refer to item #7 here. http://tinyurl.com/o5mq6

If it is a user manual then try here.

    Re: Crackling Noise?!?

Your paranoia might be justified. Don’t type Indesit in the forum search or it may turn into nightmares. 😉 😥

It should not make that sort of noise, you should get it checked out ASAP.

Also the serial number of the machine incorporates a date code, if you post it up we can tell you the date of manufacture. If it is less than 5 years then it follows that you cannot have had it for over 5 years.

Armed with that information it is very unlikely that they will refuse to repair it under warranty.

    Please read this http://tinyurl.com/o5mq6

You can obtain that element from this site at a reasonable price. Also remember that your appliance is under a five year parts warranty so the most you will have to pay is Hotpoint’s £89.95 labour charge. A better option than attempting what can be an awkward repair without suitable tools and experience.

Part number of element is C00057684. Normal sized jubilee clips will not fit, you need thinner ones.

Ok so from what you said in laymens terms is that the machine wants to fill but somthing wont let it??

The ‘something that won’t let it’ is almost certainly the fact that it still has water in it because it is not emptying correctly.

    Re: wma34 flashing light???

Morning, prewash light flashing indicates a fill or pressure switch problem, likely to be a partial blockage in the combined sump and pressure chamber. Other less likely possibilties are faulty pump, pressure switch or fill valves.

Please remove the mains plug if you intend to investigate further.

    Re: wma34 flashing light???

Its a bit late and all my manuals are in the car outside, and there is a considerable amount of Peroni & red wine inside 8) . I will have a look at the tech info and if you have had no replies before then I will get back to this thread tomorrow. When these lights flash does the machine actually malfunction, does it stop full of water, not wash or spin, stick in the middle of the cycle etc. An out of balance load such as one single heavy item can cause problems which if my alcohol impaired memory serves me correctly does flash the prewash light.

What was the load you had in when this fault appeared?

    Jim.
