    Re: WMA30

The full spin cycle on my WMA62 is 16 minutes, the WMA30 will be at least 10 minutes.

Not seen that fault. Have you actually watched it do this? Suprising how many times people say this, even when they have had the machine for years, guess it is a sign of the times with people having so little patience. I sit and watch it and in most cases the machine works perfectly. Possibly worth checking the sump to make sure something is not partially blocking the pressure chamber part.

Other than that you may need to experiment unless someone else has seen this before. 😉

The next step is to check the machine with the proper electrical test equipment rather than replacing parts first. Did you check the element and thermistor before changing, fault could be any number of places, impossible to guess from here, stats, wiring, control PCB, dryer control, etc, etc. Please remove plug if you intend to proceed further yourself.

Check for flooded base first of all. tilt it backwards and if water runs out then you need to isolate the leak, if you can find it. After that then check for blocked hoses, particularly the clear plastic one that runs across the front of the pump, can be pulled off to clean.

Model numbers?? some of these are Creda/Hotpoint based with the plastic, square rear bearing that has been replaced with a phosper bronze bearing. Also possible some have the felt front bearing seal that has been superceded by a complete drum and duct kit.

Sounds like a possible PCB/eeprom fault. you would need the hardware key at the very least to diagnose correctly without error codes and even that may not be enough.

The smell could just be dust and fluff that has dropped onto the element during repair, just to be on the safe side keep a close eye on it for the next couple of uses.

    Re: WD52 Hotpoint

Looking at the wiring diagram for the WD51,61,62 which has the same timer as the WD52 it shows all wiring colours, destination and timer terminal numbers. It will be a bit of a pain but it should be possible to sort using that info.

If your WD52 manual does not have a wiring diagram let me know and I will send you the WD51 info.

He actually told a punter some time back that he really didn’t know what he was doing ( Lancelot that is, not GB) but at the same time gave him the information to effect a repair.

But for how long 😉 😥

Logically if the current production is all switched to moulded drums that may be imported, then whoever manufactures the existing drum halves is going to find their order books massively reduced if they are now only producing for service requirements. If that is the case it follows that they will have to increase the price to the Indesit Company to a point that they will not pay for them, or suffer a huge loss in revenue. Going of their recent track record I can see a welded drum being the only option in the very near future unless the ridiculously wasteful trend of welded drums is reversed.

PS. I got two 1603409 rear halves from MP last week.

Further to Johns post in the MD update thread, my details are correct but you have Star Supplies phone number prefix as 623, it should be 0161 624 0003. North West agents section.

Is it possible to use the trade login yet and what would we find if we did. ❓ 😉
