WMA32 should still be the old Hotpoint type date codes, that is the first two numbers are the date code. If the serial number is nine digits long then I would guess that it is using the Indesit format, so that serial number would be as you suggest. 8)

I can get a half price Samsung from Argos for £200, which should do (are they any good?).I refer the honourable gentleman to the first line of my reply and also my first useful saying.
Don’t be fooled by advertising, and ‘half price gimmicks’ the Samsung is only worth £200.00 in the first place.
I would do anything for my mother in law, unfortunately she is now in a comatose state due to a massive stroke. I would never allow her to be daft enough to throw away a 13 month old machine because I was to stubborn ( or any other adjective you would like to insert here) to pay the labour charge knowing that all the parts would be completely free for the next four years.
I almost feel like breaking into song with a rendition of a Who number from their famous Rock Opera. 😉

ModeratorRe: HOTPOINT WD640 LEAK!!
‘Motherboard’ ❓ 🙂 your not letting a computer geek anywhere near your washer are you. 😆
Almost all faults on this machine will generate a fault code and certain neons will start to flash. If the water is flooding out of the drawer when it is filling then either the drawer or inlet hose is blocked, gunged up or partially restricted or the water pressure is way to high.
If the water comes out of the drawer during wash action then the motor would be seen to be revolving at excessive speed for a wash and should go into error mode. If it pushes water out of the drawer during a spin cycle then a partial blockage of the sump hose leading to the pump could in theory allow the machine to go into spin whilst the drum is still full of water if the blockage is near the pressure chamber part of the sump. does the machine appear to be filling to far up the door glass?
Although this machine has Indesit electronics in it 😥 I would eliminate all other possible causes first. The control module is the last and most expensive place to look. Remember it is covered by a five year parts g/tee. If in doubt try the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help.
Mains plug out at all times if you intend to proceed further please. :zap:

X4 small 4 tag link to variable contols ‘if fitted’
X2 two reds to thermistor

X11 blue black to pump

bobokines wrote:E30 actually means “no tacho pulses”
Which is exactly what happens if the brushes have failed, no motor action, ergo no tacho pulses. As a rough estimate, assuming this has a GDA motor I would guess that 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of E30’s I have seen are brush failures, followed by loose or broken wiring and armature failure. The incidence of loose magnet, tacho or module failure is not common although it does happen.

Have a read of this thread, http://tinyurl.com/rap5e
Some info about half way down first page.
There is also a link to CPC in there, their supply times are excellent.

I would suspect that as I have stated in answer to your other question, it is doubtful if there have been significant numbers of all known failures to
be able to guess at possible causes of your problem. If and when you do manage to sort it then your experience would be invaluable to us all. 😉

Did see this yesterday but have little to go ATM. As this machine is only just coming out of gaurantee I am starting to see more of them, however it will take some time before the more common faults start to register.
Not seen F12 myself so difficult to advise.
Of the two boards I would say that the lower, power board is more prone to failure but would check all the wiring contacts and squeeze the connecter blocks with the very thin wiring.
With the very small lower back panel, the lower board is a PITA to access.

At the top of this forum, Known error codes thread.
E30 is no motor action, usually brushes.

Seems kiddo66 is sticking his neck out, just asking for it to be lopped off. 😉
I assume he will be allowed to keep on making an arse of himself as long as his posts don’t become offensive or personal.

Thats what you get from an ‘independant’, totally unbiased opinions from people who have their own livelihood to look after, who in most cases have many years experience (37 in my case) and are not forced to bow down to the ‘big boys’ . 😛
Are you a member of the general public kiddo66, or have you a particular axe to grind. 😕

If not it is down to Argos with £200 for something decentDouble that and the chances are you will get something decent, for £200 you will get rubbish. 😥
It would be extremely foolish to throw this machine away when the parts are covered by a five year guarantee, it does sound as though the control module may be faulty, you would be unable to repair this yourself with an EEPROM.
Grit your teeth and let them sort it.
The cost of the module complete with the correct EEPROM, which you would not pay for, is almost the same as their labour charge but if you buy one and fit it, you may find the fault is elswhere and will have wasted your money.
A few useful sayings, “you only get what you pay for”, “pride comes before a fall” & “don’t cut off your nose to spite your face” 😉
