Oops, in my severely depressed state I accidentally removed Don’s last post. 😳

The least said about Englands performance the better.

    Re: HOTPOINT WD640 LEAK!!

There isn’t as far as I am aware a ‘nipple’ of any kind on this hose. It is the exact same hose that has been used on the Hotpoint WMA washer range for over 5 years now. Yours may have a moulding defect that has led to failure.

Part number is a 1603299. you can get one by sending an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk

Leaks from the soap drawer area in themselves are normally due to very high water pressure and gunged up drawers.

    Jim.

If there is no motor action and no heat then it could be caused by several faults, control timer, faults preventing the motor from running that have caused the safety stats to trip, etc. Checking with the proper electrical test equipment and if needs be a wiring diagram are required.

The wiring diagrams are under manufacturers copyright, it may be wise to see if we have someone in your area who can assist you, try the link in my sig.

Please remove the mains plug if you intend to proceed yourself.

This is a drum support or bearing shaft & spigot.

If you damage the threaded end it is not a problem, the shaft is, as you can see part of the inner drum support/spigot.

I know what you mean about fastester , John, I had to stop for breath reading his post. To be honest I only read it in the first place because like so many others he had put intergrated in his thread title, for gods sake its integrated. 👿

ScottD entered in a blaze of glory then seems to have vanished without trace, perhaps Ken really did beam him up, ScottD. 😆

Re: Beaten by a Fagor FU1047

I only ever did one Fagor door seal, a black rubber thing on a washer dryer, many years ago when Comet first started selling them. I have never done another, a hateful job. 😥

    It’s all Don’s fault, 😉

I was up at my Mum’s this afternoon, she has not got access to the cricket so I was watching the England footie game with the cricket score ‘In Vision’ via teletext , at one point the football team where scoring faster than the cricket team. 😥

Not sure she has a ‘profession’ , will ask her the next time I speak to her. She has agreed to let me have a couple of items of clothing and hopefully
‘someone’ 😉 will be able to analyze the offending marks.

Marks are noticed before going into dryer, they do look for all the world like ink marks, although she said the recent ones appear to have a little bit of fibre within the stain ❓

This doesn’t look like that, it has only started happening in the past month or so. Also her next door neighbour is a customer of mine and they are not suffering from this.
The machine is in the garage and I suspect a certain amount of DIY went into the installation, could be something he has connected that is breaking down somewhere.

It is really annoying, I wish we had took out extensive warranty or something or bought a machine that is less complicated and easy to diagnose a fault.

You missed out the most important element, a machine of better quality 🙂

Something well worth paying for in the long run.

Re: Hotpoint DF61 not filling up with water

There can be many reasons for the machine not filling, faulty valves, wiring, blockages, controls etc, etc.

Very unlikely to be the motor. ( who told you it was the motor ? )

Not an easy machine for the layman to access but as it is a Bosch under the skin it should be well worth repairing.

please make sure you remove the mains plug if you intend to have a poke around.

Well somebody may have been influenced, Dodgy David Dein has been voted off the FA committee and to make it even sweeter, he has been replaced by David Gill, of Man United. 😛 😆

I suspected your post at 2.19 would put the mockers on England, one or two dodgy decisions as well, how on earth did the umpires miss that direct hit on the glove of Panesar. 😥
