    Re: DOOR LOCK WMA 9

I will e-mail you the component test diagnostics.

They will be for the WMA22 & WMT02, but they have the same control module with Vogue 2 controls.

I have had a quick look and they appear to be the same. WMT02 look to be your best bet.

    CAPS Lock off please. 😉

Have you tried the door lock by depressing the actuator with a probe or something similar, or lifting the door lock out of the machine whilst connected and depressing the switch?

The door latch spring is prone to breaking and although it appears to be working will not have enough power to close the switch.

    Part number, 1603332.

This could turn out to be another nail biter, it would have been all over now if England hadn’t spilled 7 or 8 catches. 😥

A big thankyou to iadom and Penguine45..you are complete stars and have saved me £90.. 😆
    Best regards Mrmister

You see, its not such a heap of junk after all, you just need to educate the operator now, 😉

Coins can do very serious damage to modern machines with nylon outer drums, you have escaped this time.

Thanks for letting us know the outcome.

Re: Hotpoint Dryer CTD00 not heating

The thermostats are the most common cause of failure, if you have kept all the filters and the condensor clean then another possible cause is stopping the dryer in mid cycle to check on the clothes. you should always allow the machine to complete the 10 minute cool tumble at the end of the cycle.

To confirm this diagnosis you do need the correct electrical test equipment.

Part number is 1703200 and can be ordered from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk

Please remove the mains plug at all times if you decide to check this out yourself.

    goodnight

Don’t be silly, even allowing for the Italian and Chinese degradation of the domestic appliance market BISE, you will not be able to buy another machine for £90.00.
The machine you have, although basic is not one of the worst machines on the market, it does not have the dodgy Indesit controls and it has the later drum bearings. It should last you for a few years yet.

    NB. BISE= Before ISE 😉

Evening P45, looks like the weather may save Sri Lanka 😉

mrmister, please take note of my earlier post, if the worst comes to the worst, you have a full five year parts warranty.

this hunk of junk im afraid.

Tsk, tsk. If it does turn out to be a pump obstruction or similar it is worth noting that in 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of cases this is due to user misuse, not due to the quality of the machine.

The pump is behind the lower back panel, arm yourself with a couple of towels and a washing up bowl or large roasting tray. Power off at all times.

Re: Hotpoint First Addition WMA20 = Problems

It does sound as though you may have a partial pump blockage or sump obstruction, If you do not feel capable of checking this yourself then click on the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help. It should not be over expensive if this is the cause of your problem.

Please remove the mains plug if you intend to open the patient up yourself.

As regards your reference to the ‘skip’ please bear in mind that you do have a five year parts gaurantee on this machine, even if the machine suffered a major expensive failure you would only have to pay the Indesit Co’s £90.00 labour charge, you will not be able to go out and purchase a new machine for that price.

Fortunately this machine has the earlier Hotpoint electronics, before Indesit decided to put their own woeful PCB’s into most of the Hotpoint range, also if it is under 2 years old it will have the later bearing seals which have virtually eliminated the large number of bearing failures on these.
In short, get it seen to. 🙂

Re: Hotpoint Ultima WD865 not drying

This fault is as you say well documented, it all depends on your powers of argument and determination to get redress. The Indesit Company will tell you that this is not a modification to cure a known problem but a non retrospective improvement 🙄

The replacement of this part is the only way to ensure that this fault does not keep coming back.

    AN INDIAN WITH ONE TESTICLE
There once was a Red Indian whose given name was “Onestone”. So
named because he had only one testicle. He hated that name and asked
everyone not to call him Onestone.
After years and years of torment, Onestone finally cracked and
said, if anyone calls me Onestone again I will kill them!” The word got
around and nobody called him that any more.
Then one day a young woman named Blue Bird forgot and said, “Good
morning, Onestone.” He jumped up, grabbed her and took her deep
the forest where he made love to her all day and all night. He made
love to her all the next day, until Blue Bird died from exhaustion.

The word got around that Onestone meant what he promised he would do.
Years went by and no one dared call him by his given name until a
woman named Yellow Bird returned to the village after being away for
    many years.
Yellow Bird, who was Blue Bird’s cousin, was overjoyed when she
saw Onestone. She hugged him and said, “Good to see you, Onestone.”
Onestone grabbed her, took her deep into the forest, then he made
love to her all day, made love to her all night, made love to her all the
next day, made love to her all the next night, but Yellow Bird wouldn’t
    die!
What is the moral of this story?????……………………….

You can’t kill two birds with one stone!!

Ally, you could have added this to your original post on this , it helps to keep things tidy. 😉

I take it you did try to cancel the Child lock function (often gets accidentally activated ) before you changed the module.

The child lock flashing normally means just that, the Child Lock is activated, to cancel, press and hold child lock button for five seconds.

You may find you have a perfectly good spare module now. 🙂
