Funny that, as a Lancashire cricket supporter I noticed that last week they beat Durham who had two players called Onions & Mustard. 😆

If it still has the two plastic pulleys on either side supporting the drum at the front then it is faulty. A well documented problem that aflicts this machine and all its other incarnations. There is a conversion kit to return the machine to the old style Creda drum front bearing pads that have given virtually no problems whatsoever for over 20 years . The pulleys are thrown away. Just in case it does require this modification you can tell Comet that the part number required is a 1703273. 😉 Hotpoint started to spoil the original Creda design but it took The Indesit Company to produce this masterpiece. 😥

When a customer tells me that it takes them 2 hours to do a wash I tell them that in fact it actually takes them 20 seconds, ten seconds loading the machine and ten seconds unloading. 🙂

Seal is an 064545 and you have the correct number for the paddles.

Full production of the hybrid control was implemented in April 1995 (date code 16)
So it looks like you need a 1608422.

Why not fit an ARM 20 from Qualtex, will fit either type of GDA motor.

If it is an analogue controlled machine ( separate timer & module ) then you need a 1604810. If it has the hybrid control unit then you need 1804822.

As this is a sensor dryer you may have a faulty dryness module, not very common but something I have seen on the similar Hotpoint machines on several occasions. Did you notice if the heater light was on as soon as you selected your drying programme before you pressed the start button?

You should also see the heater light go out for the five or six seconds of reverse tumble.

Unfortunately this module is just under £70.00 ex vat. It may be time to get the machine checked out by an engineer before going any further, as this machine is a little more complex than a standard condensor dryer.

Thats the one problem with all the crumple zones etc in modern cars, you are safe but it doesn’t half cost to repair. I was in a two week old Volvo V70 estate some years back, a young lad in his dads Renault 7 decided he wanted to reduce it to a Renault 5 and hit me doing around 40 mph whilst I was stationary at a bypass access road. I didn’t feel a thing but the cost of repair was almost £5,000 and after that was done I found that I couldn’t adjust the drivers seat, turns out the impact had caused the seat frame to bend. 😯

Re: Ariston Margherita A1535 Advantage – pumps while empty

Five flashes does indicate a pressure switch fault, you have to bear in mind that these fault codes can be somewhat ambiguous to say the least. In fact it may not be the switch but a blockage in the pressure hose or pressure chamber.

The pressure switch is not over expensive but your machine can have two different types. We would need the full serial number to identify the correct one.

That sounds about right Chris, seems a bit of a waste but I will no doubt find a use for them in the fullness of time. The original waste hose had had a visit from a small furry animal, I suspected that the several holes in the outlet pipe had been responsible for spraying water into the base of the dishwasher. Unfortunately I found another fault, a small crack where the fill matrix slots into the two rubber sealing rings on the water softener unit. If my Araldite epoxy resin fix is not successful it will be a bit of a pain. 😥

    Re: Direct drive LG

Not sure about the LG but certain Hotpoint machines with 3 phase motors have a module that contains certain components that can give you a very severe kick if you do not allow a safe period of time to elapse before putting yours hands inside.
