The advertisers forgot to add the last line,……….on and on, the tip. 😥

Cut and run, if you fit bearings to this they will fail very quickly. I doubt that Martin will make such a generous offer this time around, 😉

The old adage, “you get what you pay for” is as true today as it ever was, particularly in regard to domestic appliances.

Unlikely to be the sump, more likely to be high water pressure. Remove the drawer completely and clean it from all sides, including the drain channel for the fabric conditioner. Use tablets or powder and make sure you do not have the blue flap at the back of the soap compartment down in the ‘liquid’ position. Don’t overfill the fabric conditioner compartment and avoid using very thick fabric conditioners or water them down a little.

If you get a loud gushing, noise when the machine is filling, use the two taps the fill hoses are connected to, to adjust the pressure so that you get a nice steady flow.

Hi Anne Marie…………. there are several faults that can cause this. Any suggestions as to component failure would be just guesswork, it may not even need a part.

If you do not have the correct test equipment or electrical competence then you really do need to have the machine checked out by someone who does.

    Re: Hotpoint BF32

The water does not cover the heating element, the fault could be stats, timer or wiring harness breaks. The fact that you changed the heater without ‘apparantly’ checking it for continuity first suggests to me that you would be advised to aquire the correct test equipment or, click on the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help.
Please remove plug if you intend to investigate further.

I refer you to my first post, if there are no visible signs of damage, the proper electrical test equipment, and experience is required to determine the condition of the element. with the cooker isolated from the mains at all times.

Thanks for replies, I think that this customer would not feel safe with a repair on this machine in any event. The thing is, if they want a washer dryer, what do you recommend when a six year old Bosch goes up in smoke 😥

    Hi Jim
Thats a tuffy 😕 Its definately an isolated case. I take it appliance was in outside shed? Dampness must have been a factor if that were the case.
Point that out to the customer, most modern machines do not appreciate such conditions and Bosch are no exception.

PS – Bryan Im not always right 😆

No, inside in a modern purpose built washroom, warm, dry, tiled floor. middle aged couple, no kids, no signs of leaks on the machine whatsoever.
