Re: HOTPOINT WMA 10 NO SPIN

To quote Marlon, from the Perishers, the mind boggles. 😯

I feel a Victor Melldrew moment coming on. 🙂

I for one would be very interested in any hypothesis on this. ❓

What made you change the hot valve, what is the resistance/insulation reading on the displaced valve. Can you save the valve and put it in another machine to see if you can replicate the fault?

Glad to hear that Martin, I can recommend this as an excellent piece of security software. I have used it for a couple of years and the latest version is very user friendly. Works in a different way to AV and firewalls and prevents any alterations to your registry without your permission.

Hi Greg, mine is version 2005, I am now almost sure the problem you have occured on mine as soon as I allowed Acrobat to update itself a few months back, I even posted on here at the time and others had a similar problem. Mine is now working fine after un installing TDS, Acrobat 5 & 7 doing a registry clean up, then re installing everything.

Just make sure that you un tick the auto update/update promt options in Acrobat.

No need to feel cheeky, its a wise engineer who knows when to ask for help. Even though I don’t do commercial machines, I still read the posts out of interest, keeping all the technical questions in one forum helps to keep things tidy.

    Re: commercial section

Questions on commercial machines crop up on a regular basis within the forum, several members even specialise in these, don’t think there is a real need for a separate forum, the trade technical and spares, seem to accomodate all types of appliances without to much of a problem.

You have to draw the line somewhere or you would have more forums than ancient Rome 🙂

Thanks George for the evening session at the Wilton Arms, you coped admirably with the large crowd, 😉 blame it on the Liverpool v Ar senal match. I missed a chance really, I could have been on Shaw market on Thursday selling a collection of designer mens wear in Navy Blue 🙂 see you in Brum.

    Jim.

Over £70.00 + vat. I would not risk fitting that yourself, your machine is under 5 years old and as such is covered by Hotpoint’s 5 year parts warranty, they will charge you just under £90.00 to fit and you will not pay for any parts. You may buy and fit one and still not cure the fault which could be linked to the main module.

If I remember I also stopped Acrobat from searching for, or downloading updates. I seem to remember it was the last update to Acrobat 7 that caused the problem. you may need to roll back system restore if you have allowed Acrobat 7 to update.

I think Martin was referring to a ‘service’ manual. Is what you have received an instruction manual or a service manual?

Is this the 2005 disc? I had this problem with it a while back and did a complete re install to cure. I’m on XP and have both Acrobat 7 & Acrobat 5 from the TDS disc on my system, most of the time it runs OK.

Are you using liquid or powder detergents, also what brand are you using, are you in a soft or hard water area, do you use a fabric softener ?

At this time of year the clothes will be ‘freezing cold’ on all washes, the rinses are done in cold water only.
