Here’s another thought, how about one of those condenser vent hoses? You know, the short length of vent hose with a container stuck on the end, dunno how they work mind you? 😕

Not that well, a few customers of mine have used them but they are not impressed, one of them works by tipping ice cubes in the container that the hose goes into. I would much sooner put my ice in a nice malt, or a G&T. 😀

Re: Hoover HP6 120M UK, no heat?

Thanks for replies guys, many of the Hotpoint machines will progress to the end even if the heater is faulty, all of the digital controlled WM range advance the timer into the rinse & spin cycle after a set period if no rise in temp is recorded, unless the customer has very dirty washing, most of them don’t even know the heater has failed.
I suspect that the heater may not have worked since the last repair but as this machine was given to her I cannot be sure.

Heater is definately not working, there is no live feed to the element and in fact she has already tried it on a 90° wash. Any idea on the option buttons, in or out for selection?

Will return armed with my varifocals and get my nose up close to the module 😀

Is this something that I can easily fit myself?

That is something only you can really answer, 😉 considered a very simple repair by people with the required skills and experience.

As GB has reiterated, get it tested with proper equipment. The parts are available in the Shop@ . If you do diagnose faulty stats then make sure you handle the replacements with care.

Plug out at all times. :zap:

    Re: hotpoint TDC62 not drying

Most common cause of this is the thermostats above the heater. You need electrical test equipment to check properly. Please remove the plug before opening the machine up, or have a look in Repairs@ by clicking the link in my sig to see if we have someone in your area.
There are several other possible causes, other than the electronic control module they are mainly fairly inexpensive to repair.

Re: Indesit D63 dishwasher – overflowing

The easy solution is to advise your customer not to buy an Indesit. All to common fault on this and the Hotpoint/Ariston derivatives. The list of possible causes is quite extensive as well. Using 3 in 1, or 4 in 1 tablets can cause it in certain areas. Try a search of the forum, lots of threads on this problem such as this one. http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … dishwasher

I hope he will get the hint with my less than cryptic ‘washerdoc’ tag,
feel free to admonish if you think it is required.

Of to bed now, phones gone mad last two days, inadvertanly overbooked myself tomorrow. 😥 Still eight days work is better than one. 😀

    Cheers.

    mar0609, please don’t try this.

Re: Creda built-in diswasher door problem

This is possibly a Fagor produced machine, It will need removing from its position to take off the side panels, door front panel also needs to be removed. The springs may not be faulty, it is more than likely that the ‘rod link’, the flat metal strip that attaches to the door, on one or both sides has failed. This is something best left to someone who has experience on these machines.

PS. The ‘so called manual’ is perfectly adequate for its purpose, it is a ‘user’ manual, not a ‘service’ manual after all.

Re: My hotpoint wma9 doesn`t spin at all

To be honest, and please don’t take this personally, but if you are stuck at this stage then I strongly advise you you get an expert in, have at look at our Repairs@ section by clicking on the link in my sig. there are 3 different motors used on this machine, however no motor action can be caused by several other faults as well. Please make sure you remove the plug if you intend to proceed further.

Just out of curiosity, is it a BS1620 or a BSI620, I can find neither on Partfinder. ❓
