The rust is definately the main bearings, at the very least you will need new bearings, more likely a rear drum half, possibly a drum support as well.
If your machine is under five years old Hotpoint will do this for labour only. Not really a DIY job.Re the fabirc softener, make sure that you clean the blue/green mesh in the drawer thoroughly, including the two little pipes at the end, you should be able to blow through them. Also make sure that your fabric conditioner is not to thick and avoid storing it anywhere that is very cold.

On a slightly different tack , I had a call yesterday, on the phone customer insisted machine was over five years old. Gave me precise model number, WF320G. Now I know this machine has only been in production for about 18 months to two years at the most. Went to machine, it was a WM63 with worn brushes.?????

McAfee!
I use CSAV from Authentium, it has never let me down in over 8 years, deffiles auto update two or three times a day.
PrevX home is not an anti virus programme, it works in a completely different way, blocking any attempts to alter your system.

One of those programmes I mentioned is actually a free version of a top rated security product. PrevX . It can seem a little intrusive to start with but it is one of the best programmes I have come across for detecting any activity that attempts to alter or modify your PC. you can suspend it whilst you are installing new bona fide software, or it will keep popping up to make sure you want to go ahead. Otherwise it can be set to auto update its deffiles and has a very small footprint. taking up very few resources. It stops anything that has sneaked past your AV from activating.
Well worth giving it a go.http://www.prevx.com/prevxhome.asp

The moral of the story is , buy from a reputable local independant retailer who knows all about the products they are selling, and who will also give you first class back up should things go wrong. That model has been in production for a quite a while now, it could be that your machine is a few years old.
I have several customers with that model that have little or no problems with them.
It is possible to date your machine if you give us the first two numbers of the serial number.iadom

You could say I am a little paranoid, but I have ZoneAlarm Pro firewall, Command antivirus from Authentium, Mailwasher Pro, Prevx Home (excellent free for home use security) Spywareblaster, Microsoft AntiSpyware, and Adaware installed. Needless to say, I have never had any kind of infection in the last 10 years.

That is almost certainly a dryness module fault. If the light stays on when the dryer does the short, anti clockwise tumble the module has failed. Still best to get it checked out first, quite an expensive part.

Perhaps we should change the name of the new machine from ISE to RTFM. 😉

John042, you should use a programme such as Mailwasher. Using it, I can view all my e-mails without downloading them and delete/bounce any that I do not want before they get anywhere near my machine.
That link is to the genuine article, several imposters with inferior products, if you Google for it.
PS. If Norton was any good you should not have become infected in the first place. Perhaps thats why I don’t use it.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint BFV620 fault codes.
Lights 2 & 4 suggest a heater related fault. you will not need to replace any switches. This is a 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit machine 😥 .
Please remove the plug if you intend to go further. You will need a degree of electrical experience if you do. If not try Repairs@

Are you sure it is a relay and not the door lock. I think I posted test sequence for this model last week.

Some do get through simply because they have failed to run a check on who is registered. When they phone, tell them you are registered, then ask for their name, telephone number and name of their team leader. Then tell the person they are actually committing a criminal offence and you will report them to the TPS.
Sorts them out just like that. Works every time.
Alex
I have been registered with TPS for quite some time and at first it did have a dramatic effect on cold calls. Unfortunately it only covers calls made in the UK. These calls are now coming in on a regular basis from all parts of the world.I have an ex directory number that is only given out to family. Last night I was enjoying my soak in a hot bath after clearing all the snow from my drive to get the car up, when the ex directory phone rang, I grabbed a towel and dripping all down the hall into the living room picked up the phone expecting to hear from someone I knew, “Good evening, I’m sorry to bother you, my name is Matthew, ” thats as far as he got before I told him in no uncertain terms that , in fact he was bothering me, before I put the phone down.
