You could try checking your PM’s 😉

Curiouser & curiouser…I went to a WMA this morning to fit a new belt (under 3 minutes using the bag tie method 🙂 ).
The new, genuine hotpoint belt, #1603287, size 1158 5PJE, code 1613202002.
The faulty belt which I am certain is the original, size 1153 J5EL, code 16132002001.
The old belt had slipped off and when I compared it with the new belt it was a fair bit longer, no doubt due to stretching, but it would appear from this that the belt on Goatboy’s WMA was genuine.

The early Hotpoint (bosch) models 860 & 870 did have problems if the hot water pressure was very low, these models had a special glass washing programme that used timed fills and results would suffer on a hot supply with poor pressure. A service TIB at the time advised us to tell customers to use cold only on these two machines.

£3.50 per set from my usual supplier. The latest batches seem to have changed again, now almost white holders, much whiter than a few years ago.

Also, if your hot water pressure is much lower than your cold, you could have problems with the timed fills that several dishwashers use.

As regards the Hotpoint 17460, that is not old, its ancient, 24/25 years old. There is not much to tumble dryer operation, so if you have any questions regarding this dryer, someone will be able to give you advice on general usage.
In fact the 17460 does not even appear on the manufacturers parts ID lists.
I will see if I can dig out an old service manual that I may be able to use to answer any questions you have.EDIT. Could you verify that model number, I can find 17560, 17450 & 17660 but even they are over 24 /25 years old. I cannot find anything relating to 17460, but it does seem to trigger a long lost memory 🙂 To be truthful almost all the parts for these machines are obsolete, although you may be able to pick up things such as belts etc.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint Condensor relay?
I have been to two other TDC30 dryers since the original call for unrelated faults. On both of them, if I switch the timer control to off,
the relay switches off instantly. There is no intermittant tumble on TDC 30 models and I have returned to the original machine today, had a look at the user manual and there is no mention of this facility. I have also contacted a former colleague who still works for Hotperloni ( over 30 years ) and he also agrees that the relay should de-energise as soon as the timer is switched off on this model.I will continue to monitor all TDC 30 dryers to see if this is the norm. It may be that the two that did switch off, have impending relay failure due?

Yep, I just thought that Brian meant there was more info on eeproms than just the bare bones various parts info that ‘details’ gives.I did notice whilst poking around in the latest version of Partfinder, a wiring connection chart for an Indesit WIL103 UK.
Not found any others yet, but if this was done for the whole range it would be a useful addition.

The ‘ details’ tab only works on items prefixed by a ? not all the pcb’s and eeproms have this.

Is this incorrect ??
Thanks

There should be no reason to uplift this machine to repair as long as you have reasonable access to it. Have you looked in Repairs@ to see if there is anyone in your area?
I personally do not consider this a difficult job, but then that is 37 years experience talking, by the same token Steve Davis may think that a two ball plant is easy. 😉
If you do attempt this repair be sure to remove the mains plug and take great care, the inside edges are very sharp. The part number I gave you earlier has all the bits required, but you will also need certain torx sockets, and a pop rivet gun if the support bracket is damaged etc.
