Motor carbon brushes would be the first thing to check. 😉
Then door interlock and wiring to it.

You do not need to remove any part to identify the part number, the numbers on the parts are for the individual component manufacturers, the appliance manufacturers designate their own part numbers to all components, a quick look up on the spares lists once you have the correct model number is all you need. 😉

I do not have a link to the conversion sheet, it was supplied with new regulators but has not been sent out for many years now. 🙁

Also worth noting that our rules on advice in the public forums state that adice on specific wiring problems will not be given, see rule #8 in the thread at the top of this forum.

Photo may not have been much use and even though you should not have disconnected the regulator before offering up the new one it may not have been much use in this case.
That number you have given ‘appears’ to be a Diamong H regulator, I am fairly certain the original ones used on production were Strix so the connections would be slightly different in any case. 🙁

A Google may be able to find you a conversion chart, they used to send a connection sheet out with the replacement part but that was before the Indesit Company took control. 🙁

    Re: HOTPOINT AQUARIUS TCL770 CONDENSER

You should get error messages given by a series of flashing lights if there is a fault, the very back of the condenser chamber may a good clean out, you have to reach right back inside and make sure all the channels at the very back are clear.

You may also have a pump float fault.

Not easy to do that, saying it was ‘new’ when in fact it was second hand and ‘used’ doesn’t help. 😉

Either way it should not flood onto the floor so it does need some attention, the float chamber may be clogged, the channel from the back of the condenser to the float chamber could be blocked etc.

    Re: HOTPOINT AQUARIUS TCL770 CONDENSER

If you forget to empty the water then a float switch in the pump chamber ‘should’ stop the dryer from operating until you have emptied the water. It should not flood onto the floor.
You shouldn’t really be needing to clean the condenser after only two or three cycles.

Sounds like it is faulty so back to the shop.

Re: New Hotpoint top loader for sale?

Apparently my Irish friend James informs that he knows who has purchased it, will be interesting to find out if it runs or is seized up. 8)

My very first washing machine after we got married was a 1504, ran it for 6 trouble free years until our daughter came along, new tumble dryer and front loader plus kitchen revamp. The 1504 was sold to a very good friend of mine, a local farmer who hammered it for another 15 years with only the usual wear and tear problems.

There is a small army of ‘nutcases’ out there who seem to relish refurbishing old appliances, forum user hotpointjames from Ireland is one such.

He is currently struggling to make one good top loader out of a 9605 with a bad oil leak and an older 15790. both of which have totally shot and badly corroded support tubes.

Try telling him he is wasting his time, no chance. 😆

Nearest I can find are these for an IDF125, does the control panel look similar?

Re: New Hotpoint top loader for sale?

Well according to my sources a boxed 1469 twin tub went for £400 recently and a wrapped , unused 1509 made £500 on FleaBay so there is a good chance it will go higher.

Not such a poor machine either, fly back stat and breaking heater studs the main weakness areas but with the right control timer it was OK compared to the later two pole motor rubbish.

But would you pay £750 for a 44 year old model that has never been used, probably totally seized up by now.
That said if the gearbox is free you would be very likely to get at least 10 years of heavy use out of it.

    Re: ZWF1221 Drum Seal Replacement

To replace the spring I slot a long screwdriver through the door lock hole until it touches the inner drum, position the end of the screwdriver inside the spring and then you have two free hands to feed the spring around the seal.
