    Re: hotpoint wml 730

Look out for hose to pressure switch chafing on the inside of the cabinet, seen a couple with this.
F 08 faults are always the old dreaded 8 flash fault, heater relay stuck, allegedly . :rolls:

Error codes for this are HERE

Top light is not used for error codes, I think that one flashes for a no fill fault so inlet valve would be first thing to check.

    Re: Hotpoint Tumble dryer bearing

If the metal lip of the front vent duct is worn away then it’s BER to be honest. There is/was a complete repair kit for these, did several a few years back. As it involves a complete drum, vent duct, stats, fan etc it will be more than the dryer is worth now. 🙁

As it is such a new machine we don’t have the error codes to hand for that machine so are unable to answer your query.

Seal is a C00097638, if you can still get one that is, may be some old stock lying about.

You don’t ‘install’ a tumble dryer, you take it out of the packaging and plug it in. If it is brand new then you should contact Currys.

Visual examination of door harness after you have removed the mains plug and taken off the outer door panel.
It is stiff, pcb is not cheap and needs a smart card and card reader to programme it.

3 phase motor fitted to this. Not touched one of these but apart from brushes poor motor plug connections can cause the same fault.

Which timer did you replace, the timer at the top that you turn with the knob does not control the reverse action or the on/off heater operation. There is another timer in the base that does that. 😉

Sent to the e mail address I used for you in 2011, hope it’s still the same. 😆

PS: You still haven’t confirmed that this machine is a Hotpoint yet?

This guy is asking some very basic questions and also seems to be buying dodgy parts on Fleabay. He is apparently a WTA member. :eeek:

    Moved to correct forum. 🙁

Why buy dodgy parts from unknown sources? Send the original pcb to EMW for test/repair and a modest guarantee.

Early WML540’s made in UK. later WML540’s made in both Poland and Italy, far too many module variations to risk one from another machine without exact commercial code and possibly serial number.

First produced around 2008 in Poland and Italy, guessing the UK machines are before that. There are at least six variations of the WML540, not including colour variants.
