The resistance of the NTC should be approx 20k?@20C.

Both the heater and the circuit board are known weak points on Indesit appliances. The NTC is hard wired to the pcb which needs programming. The heater is part of the main pump assembly and is not a quick, simple fix.

The heater would need testing for continuity/resistance before you even think of buying any parts.

The heater is around £50, the main pcb is £70.00 but needs an £18 smart card and a £100+ card reader to programme it.

What make is your appliance? There is always water visible in the sump when the filters are removed on all dishwashers.

The base is the lowest external part of the machine, not what you can see inside the door. Unplug and tilt the machine to one side. If water runs out from underneath you have a flooded base. This can be due to an internal leak which will need isolating and fixing.

I would advise getting a new TOC as well if it has tripped so many times it will be weakened.

It is possible that resettable cut outs have been fitted on production, not come across one myself TBH.

Re: Hotpoint TDC62, Intermittent Drying, Fixed

Weak or broken solder joints are known to cause intermittent heating on this model, something mentioned more than once in this forum. Often it is the joints behind the various connector blocks that fail as wel as the relays.
This type of board only fits the Hotpoint/ Creda electronically controlled dryers from the TDC range most of which will be ten years old or older by now. 😉

    Thanks for your contribution. 🙂

Sounds like the jockey pulley is at fault, comes complete with mounting bracket.
