Visit the sales and buy something decent.;)
The main motors on these Indesit dishwashers are very prone to failure, the noises you describe are a clear indication of that. New motor is around £96.

No it is not the condenser, It sits on top of the condenser which is actually moulded into the outer drum. If you remove the dryer box as a complete unit then you will see the tiny filter at the back, it usually has a small, grey corrugated hose attached but the hose was not used on some models. It just lifts out. Cut out the gauze and replace, see attached picture.
If you do clear any obstructions I would certainly replace the TOC with the correct one, I repeat it should NOT have a resettable TOC. The TOC should be either a small, round black plastic one that can only be replaced be opening up the heater box and unscrewing from inside. Or the later TOC which was located inside a thin yellow sheath attached to the top of the dryer box.
You didn’t answer my previous question, has the dryer side had any repairs done to it in the past?

Very unlikely, the manuals do not give this information.
As long as the thermistor is around 26k? @20C and its resistance rises and falls when heated or cooled then it will be OK.
In fact the earlier thermistor used on these was fairly reliable. your problem is far more likely to be a blocked rear filter, also constant tripping and resetting of TOC will cause it to fail more often.
At the very back of the unit with the whole of the metal dryer box removed you will see a very small plastic gauze filter, usually with a small hose attached.
Remove this filter and using a small craft knife or something similar, cut out the gauze ‘windows’ and discard them. This was common practise for Indesit company engineers.
I am also a little suspicious of the cut out on your machines, these should not have a resettable TOC fitted. Has it been repaired in the past?

No timer on this one Simon, it was the very last production run of the Ultima range, basically a WD72.
I still think some pcb damage has occurred.
I can you the WD72 manual if you like Devlin.
Jim.

This one doesn’t have the plug, it’s the old style 1602390 interlock. similar model to a WD72, in fact like all WM/WD machines.

ModeratorRe: Interlock basics
Fitted hundreds of those interlocks, never had a new one faulty, genuine or pattern.
Would suggest very close examination of both control and power module triacs and also look for any other visible signs of damage on pcb’s.
If one of these interlocks has jammed then it is virtually impossible to open them again without physically breaking them. The door will stay locked if machine is full of water or pressure switch has failed but pressure switch failure is not common.
If the door lock has shorted out then it is 99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain that it has damaged one or both of the pcb’s. 🙁

Possibly faulty door interlock switch, the push button is a ‘momentary’ switch so does not have any ‘feel’ to it, no click or anything like that.
Switch is a C00195695.

Have you checked the Known Error Codes thread? Would also be a good idea to give a model number.

I forgot to ask, and you seem a decent sort from previous help on these fora.
With so many machines on your books, do you worry about being able to get parts in the future or not?
I do indeed, as I turned 67 last month I am now ‘semi retired’ and only work five days a week these days, I will not be on call for much longer in the future.
I did not actually sell the machines on my area, they where all longstanding customers of mine that I personally advised to contact a local retailer who agreed to become an ISE agent. I had worked closely with them for many years. Due to ill health, thay are also no longer in business.I have in effect ‘sold’ quite a few of these machines to very close friends and family, it will be very embarrassing if or when they call me. The only thing that does ease my worry is the high quality of the machine and the hope that spares will be sourced in the future.

It was very naughty of them , the main salesman was a long standing customer of mine and the owners son. Like the ISE 10 the finished product is/has been first class and in some ways it was sad to see such a well respected local business fail after such a long time in existence. It was rumoured that a major contract that they undertook for a building company that went bust was the reason they also failed.

I have an ISE W1607, although the company that manufactured this appliance was as Lee says, ‘owned’ by Merloni it was made in Sweden at the ASKO factory to their very exacting standards. It is a fantastic piece of kit . I have more than 30 ISE 10s and around 300 of the other models. I have only done a couple of ‘genuine’ repairs due to component faults in the five years the ISE 10 has been on the market. All the other calls have been due to customer error or misuse.
PS. The company that fitted my windows had been a FENSA registered company for as long as FENSA had been in existence , sadly they allowed their membership and insurance to lapse some months before they did the work for me, so like you I have no come back. 🙁

Just over three years ago I had new windows, doors, guttering and all roofline components fitted at a cost of nearly £20,000, considerably more than the cost of an ISE washing machine. 😉 I did my research, chose a very well respected local company that had been in business for almost 30 years. In the course of my business I had seen many impressive examples of their work. They did an excellent job and I was provided with my 15 year warranty documents.
Six months later they went into administration and to my deep annoyance I found that the warranty was unlikely ever to be honoured.
I still have my windows just as all the ISE customers still have their appliances. They are in perfect condition but if any problems do materialise I will have to pay whatever it costs to put them right. Sadly these things do happen, as has been mentioned, huge businesses like Comet and MFI folded leaving hundreds of thousands of people with useless warranties. I know it is of little satisfaction but that’s life and there are many more unfortunate things that could befall one than to find that your still high quality, working washing machine is no longer covered by warranty.

I have changed a few, not overly expensive, just brought the one I changed yesterday to have a play with.
