Re: ISE 1607 Starting before button pressed?

Customer has just done a reset without success, turning the control knob will not alter the programmes?

    Reset???

One problem with very reliable machines is not having to do anything like this.

I have looked through the user manual and can find no reference to a ‘reset’ procedure.

The service manual whilst comprehensive doesn’t appear to list a ‘reset’ procedure.

The only reference I can see to a reset is to clear fault codes, ( bottom of page 38)

The Service Menu is not at all clear for the WM70.1, ( page 35) it shows the buttons in a different position and also appears to show test procedures using the lights around the control knob which the earlier ISE 10 had but this one does not?

Take the hose off and you may be able to clear it, if not then completely remove the pump to allow you to clear it.

Should have checked those pockets. :rolls:

The only way to proceed without breaking the filter is to remove the pump completely to extract whatever it is that is stuck in there. Remove mains plug, lean it back against a wall or the units, ( get someone to hold it for you if you can). Remove the four screws and drop the pump down.

Prevention is better than cure, a few seconds checking pockets can save a lot of grief, it may not block the pump next time, coins and other hard metal objects can easily punch a hole right through the outer drum, wrecking the machine. 😉

Indesit machines do not have a good reputation for reliability, the electronics in particular are prone to many faults.

Have you checked and tightened all of the connections on the main circuit board?

A new pcb will cost you around £100 but will need programming, for that you will need a £20 smart card and a £100+ card reader.

If it is under 5 years old then it may be best to take advantage of your five year parts warranty.

Search this forum for H20 and you will get some painful reading. :rolls:

They will not give you anything, they would expect you to pay around £120+ for their engineer to visit, even it it was yours from new.

I would be checking the motor brushes first. 😉

What happens if you set it to programme B or C?

Could be a faulty water inlet valve or poor connections between main pcb and valves.

First thing to do is to check all the fill valve solenoids for resistance/continuity, with the mains plug removed of course.

Have you removed the pulley pin and threaded the belt through the pulley assembly???
It looks as though you have from that picture, you should not have done that, the pulley should have been left untouched.

The grooved side of the belt should run on the drum and in the grooves on the motor shaft. You needed to unbolt the fan from the motor shaft to allow the belt to be slid onto the motor pulley and then the jockey pulley should press against the side of the belt as shown in Martins diagram.

Agree with Martin once again, sounds like belt is routed incorrectly, can you post a picture of the belt in situ?

Well he is know for watching his pennies but had no idea the washer was faulty until I heard it. I have never seen shockers that badly worn, they just dropped apart. Was able to source new ones in a local shop, something I would have struggled to do back home.

Well considering that yours is the only request for one as old as this that I can remember in the past few years, and that it must be at least 7 or 8 years since I last did a belt on one the need for such a manual would be very limited. 😀

Martin referred to the ‘cross struts at the top’. You eventually found the ‘rods’ much lower down that I was talking about. ;). I’m sure the correct belt will have it running for many years. 🙂
