Re: Drum spider ? Should I bother repairing or just replace

Merged threads, best to keep it all in one place. As with Andy I have never used a torque wrench in over 40 years. A good engineer has an inbuilt torque wrench. 😉

PS. can you make your pictures a little smaller or just upload them via the forum option, it makes the whole page go ‘off screen’ if they are too big, even on my widescreen monitor.

Re: Hotpoint Ultima says door is open when it isn’t

Really need full model number including any suffix after the 960, the full serial number and commercial code from inside the door as well.

At least two different types of door interlock fitted to these Indesit made machines.

There is an emergency door release on most of them, accessed by removing the plastic plinth along the bottom. See page 11 of the user manual. 😉

As it is really an Indesit it also suffers from weak plastic door handles, they often break and need replacing.

You possibly didn’t look in the right place, different model but same fault code. 😉

Looks like you need to find out if it is Vogue 2/3 or Vogue 4.

    Don’t ask, I have no idea. 🙁

Re: Hotpoint WF540P dispenser deep or shallow?

There are two different lengths of dispenser so I am guessing that is the deep and shallow ones, not seen them referred to as that before though. I have had problems in the past ordering the correct one and even johnnyj an Indesit franchise member has mentioned this. Do you have a commercial code and serial number Mark?

    Re: Hotpoint wma54 flashing lights

If it was ‘usual’ it would have done it from day one. 😉

Pre wash flashing can indicate a fill problem, either tap turned off or faulty fill valves. Can also be pressure switch/wiring faults.

You can check the taps are turned on and that there is actually water going to them, to check the valves you will need a multimeter or megger.

Re: Hotpoint CTD 80 Drum Not Spinning

The serial number I referred to is for the dryer not the heater. You will need the full model number and all the other numbers from the label inside the door, there may also be another one on the back.
That is the only way to get the correct part, they all look alike.

On it’s back for that model, that polystyrene float rises if the base gets flooded, switches on the pump and displays the error message. If you have got it stuck without any water in the base then it will do exactly what you have described.

There are TCFG and TCFM models, customer is wrong.

Don’t have any tech info but the fault code is likely to be the same as the latest ones in the Error Codes thread.
