    Re: Noisy Ariston

Thanks Helo. I’ve managed to strike a happy balance with van stock and also being a gas engineer I do carry quite a few Oven stats and FSD’s. Not always been this way though. In Nov last year I was down at 77{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} but I treat work as if it was my own business and I have found that this way I clear more calls per week.
Too many engineers have the attitude that if they dont have have the exact part it states on partfinder they wont entertain fitting another of a simlilar type

    Re: Noisy Ariston

10 days is excessive what ever the engineers circumstances. If he hasnt got one he can always try a fellow engineer from same area and get one off him like alot of use engineers up here in east yorkshire do, thats if he can be bothered.
£90 labour to tighten a counterweight is I agree excessive but thats something we dont have control over unfortunately. There are im sure occasions when independent repairers charge more than manufacturers.
As an engineer who has a 1st time clearance rate of 91{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} it is frustrating to know there are engineers who dont pull their weight and wont go that extra bit of the way to fix machine without asking for an extra job slot or
without asking for it to be rebooked for another day when they have the alloted time to carry out repair.

Before you fit paddles ensure that there is a small rectangular piece of the inner drum still there this locks the paddle in place. Without it the paddle can become dislodged again

Yes helo it was. Look back through thread. I offered guy with problem a possible solution and all iadom ( It All Depends On Me) can do is take pee. If these so called moderators are so good at fixing machines or better still think they can design one better ones than the manufacturers why dont they put they knowledge where there mouths are? Oh yes i forgot the famed ISA machine.

News is all union members have been balloted to ask if they would be prepared to go on strike or if they will take another form of industrial action.

A quick fix is to use a small drill and at the end of the crack drill a hole this will stop it spreading further. It works as the hole releases the stress in the crack. Common practice when I was in the RAF.
There is a repair kit and as soon as i find number of it I will let you know.
You could however go back to indesit as the machine is under 5 year warranty.

Hi why waste time repairing board if you dont know what caused it? More prudent to buy new board surely

    Hi
The belt might have come off but that would not cause your problem if the motor is still turning. He should have at least pulled machine out and connected his laptop to machine. The boards dont get confused; they either work or dont work. I work as engineer for Indesit and wouldn’t dream of telling a customer the machine was confused.

I totally agree with jonah. As last person to work on appliance you are responsible for it whether you’ve only worked on electric side or even just fitted new door glass or control knob.

If the installation is incorrect how does someone who is not Corgi registered know what is what on the gas side of it. leave well alone and get a gas engineer to sort it out. Im sure if anything did go wrong your public liability insurance would not cough up to any claim
