If the water smells and is not clean check the position of the outlet hose. I suspect it is connected under the sink to the waste pipe but has no height to it so when water from the sink is drained some is going back into the machine

Definatley got to be a blockage in the sump hose not letting the water out of drum fast enough.

How many of us have been to a house where its an elderly couple and she’s gone out and left him waiting for us to arrive and fix washer. He hasnt a clue how about whats wrong so she has left a very detailed note describing the problem?

Hmmm i know a few engineers im my team that would be happy to see the back of BG white goods service. All we ever get from them is the crappy old machines that they cant be bothered to fix

Re: THE THINGS CUSTOMERS SAY ?

Went to a call out a few years ago when I worked for Hoover. Old guy with brand new washer.

“So what seems to be the problem?” says me innocently

“Well I put it on a boil wash and the drum turned clockwise 74 times and anticlockwise 75 times. Shouldn’t it be the same for both?

Why is it when you go a house that is a right sh** hole dthe customers always say either…
“excuse the mess were in the middle of decorating” or “we’ve just moved in?”

Once went to a very posh house. Customer was having morning coffee with her friends in the sitting room. Im in kitchen on floor unblocking the pump only to find to my horror it is jammed up by a condom. So do walk calmly into sitting room waving it and say I’ve found the problem? Or do I be discreet and say it was an elastic band and have thrown it in the bin?
    Answers on a postcard please.

I can honestly say the problem of loose counterweights is not a common one in fact i cant remember that last time i tightened one up
20 years ago Hotpoint machines were made near Colwyn Bay in North Wales. Merloni now Indesit company bought Hotpoint. The machines ARE still made in North Wales just south of Ryhl. What is inside the machines had been changed but what business man with any sense would make a product for one company totally different from another that he owned?
Ok so what is inside a hotpoint has changed from the past models but hey thats progress. Maybe you should look inside an Ariston or a Creda because they are remarkably similar too.
The same goes for lots of comapnies. Ideal boilers, who I worked for previously bought boilers from Italy and badged them up. What matters most is surely quality and reliability.
If you were to stand on any city street and asked people what washing machine they own and would they but another of the same make you would get those who would and those who not have another no matter what make.
Ok Im slightly biased I work for Indesit but I know from experience both past and present, 6 years as an engineer with Hoover or should that be Candy?
There are engineers out there that when called to a Hotpoint machine that will change the part that is faulty on a machine less than 5 years old knowing very well that it would be cheaper for the customer to call the manufacturer out on the 5 year free parts.
I have also had local repairers complain that they cant repair newer models of Hotpoint machines due to the power module having a programmable chip in it. Hotpoint sell the chips already programmed for the machines for this purpose, mind you if us manufacturers engineers use them we get told off as we have our laptops to program blank chips.

Re: Hotpoint WMT03 wiring diagram. Problem Sorted in 30 seco

Ok I admit I misread the model number and that they usually are rear drum change and on some occsions a drum support change too depending how bad the shaft of the support is coroded.

Re: HOTPOINT WMT03P WASHING MACHINE WIRING DIAGRAM

I am an engineer for hotpoint and believe me we never just change a drum when bearings have gone. We always change the bearings. As for disconecting wires and not knowing where they go back to, Surely it is common sense if attempting this kind of strip down to note the cable colours and where they go or even better if you dont need to disconnect it then dont!
A few months ago i was called to a house in york where someone had done exectly what you had done. He was certain he had reonnected the door lock correctly but had in fact go the neutral and swithced live the wrong way round so when the door lock operated it put a live supply to the neutral side of the timer resulting in blowing the timer. So the cost of changing a set of bearings which cost him £15 actually cost him 10 times that amount as he had to pay for the callout to repair the fault and as it was his fault he had to pay for the time too even though the machine was less than 5 years old and still on free parts guarantee.
Ok we charge £89.98 as a labour charge but you get what you pay for.

Hi sounds like the injector is………….

Sorry, the advice offered may or not be correct – the home user has no way of knowing whether the procedure has been carried out correctly and with any gas problem safety is paramount. Please proceed as per Dave_Conways post.

Flashing LED 2 means either you have a heater earth fault, open circuit heater or inlet valve connections fault
