ParticipantRe: CALGON!….whats your view??
If my memory serves me correctly someone worked out that for a family with 3 kids it would cost in excess of £90 per year to use calgon everytime when washing.
As an engineer myself its not very often that I do change a a heater. Having said that when I have done bearing changes there is at times some serious brown/ grey gunge in some machines i’ve come across but thats down to cheap powder and low temp washesindespoint
ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA Door Seal Clamp
I tend to use a pair of pliers to hold one end and a screwdriver then to tighten the band up.
They are a pain to tighten and thats from someone who works for indesit.indespoint
ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WF 440
After a couple of minutes I cancelled this program by setting it to the drain position.
You dont cancel progs by moving the dial you have to press and hold start button then reslect program you want.

ParticipantRe: brand new hotpoint wd420
With the machine being this new get hotpoint out to it as soon as possible.

ParticipantRe: Ariston Nightmare
Come on guys the hint was it doesnt drain. The pump is bound to be jammed hence the flashing lights no matter which ones are flashing.
Best way to deal with it is to get your hubby to pull machine out get drain hose into a bucket and allow it to drain through gravity. Once you’ve got all the water out you can open door without flooding kitchen and remove clothes.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WM63 Overfilling on rinse
Check the pressure bottle is clear of any build up of gunge.

Please please please do not use cable ties to secure the heater. The part number of the heater clips is 9900250 they are a good strong jubilee type clip

ParticipantRe: An offer you can’t refuse?
Too right jim I’ll drink to that, but when will customers ever figure that out I wonder?
Had one today wanted her cooker replacing all for as the oven would not heat up properly. What caused the problem plain simple muck in the injector. Sigh, now where’s me beer gone!indespoint
ParticipantRe: Hotpoint bwm129 leaking
BWM 129 does have a metal drum assy with no means of entry.
Like hotpnt says best way to refit turret is through the sump outlet.
Good luck!indespoint
ParticipantRe: An offer you can’t refuse?
Flamin hell Jim thats twice we’ve agreed!!! Im off to a team meeting tomorrow and one of the engineers in same team as me is on the negotiating team. Im sure there will be a few comments on the matter but for now I cant wait for pay day and an extra £400 pay due to me. it will come in handy for summer and a very welcome break in the lake district with my family to help my wife recupperate from what she has to face in the next couple of months.

ParticipantRe: An offer you can’t refuse?
Cant remember the numbers for and against industrial action short of a strike Jim.
The pay rise offered of 2{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} back dated to April 2006 was accepted by the negotiating team and now they move to negotiate for this years pay rise.
To be honest im glad its been done this way although Im sure there are engineers who are not happy with the acceptance. C’est la vie!indespoint
ParticipantRe: Indesit Franchise
All i was saying is that a mate of mine makes plenty from being a franchise engineer as well as the other one i know who DOES make £40k a year and has been successful at it for years. BUT oh no I must be wrong because you all know better well tough i know what i know to be true so bollocks to you all!!!!

ParticipantRe: Indesit Franchise
Washdoctor I know he cannot do private work on indesit products derrr. If you care to read earlier threads you might see that private worked meant other makes. Yes I have seen what he gets paid. Maybe just maybe you f****** idiots dont like the idea of it actually working for someone.
Well nothing I can do about that but face facts it has worked!!! yeah ok for one person I know i dont atually give a toss about the others who bleat on about it not working.
As for why I have not taken it up well its quite simple I have enough on my plate with my wife having cancer!!!!
So if the guy who said he only makes £50 a month more than when he was an indesit engineer try working on other makes you’d be surprised at how easy it is 😀indespoint
ParticipantRe: Indesit Franchise
Ok tell me where you can get a franchise of any kind where you DONT have to buy your stock ,van etc.
Business franchise i have seen advertised in national papers let you buy in for £15k plus.
All i was orginally saying was that it would be daft not to take on your own private work as well as indesit work after all you sat up your own business with a van with your name and number on it not indesits or was the orginal poster driving a plain white van?
Im not on my own in how i think. I know of another indesit franchisee who makes in excess of £40k a year up in teeside.
Its all down to what you are prepared to put into it and if the original poster only makes £50 a month more than when he was working for the company well then he would be daft not to take on more work of his ownAs an independent there is no guarantee of work either and rely on the phone ringing to give you the work.
As for the bank manager laughing at you well thats where you are wrong yet again kwatt.
Going off my figures for last year alone I know I would get a loan to set up in business.
Too many engineers want the work but are not prepared to do a little leg work of their own to get it. Maybe my mate is lucky to be working in a rural area where there is plenty of indesit work as well as his private calls. We both work a certain North yorks seaside town and both have full diaires -
