the only reason(s) i can think of is cost in manufacturing. a double (or single for that matter) switch is more costly than a ‘soft on/off’ switch, faster pcb on time or does it have something to do with protecting the board from potential arching of contacts on a traditional switch when turned on? there is a definite answer for this, im sure asko will tell ken if he asks 🙂 worth the question imo

How on earth can that be a setup lol. The reaction of the individual is his alone. i dont see anyone forcing him to do it, unless its been photoshoped out? that will be the next conspiracy. 🙂 This is all out of hand now but in certain ways very humorous!

ParticipantRe: Bosch W.Dryer no heat on wash
which seems logical, the pcb (software) has bailed due to a timeout on fill so wouldnt put the heater on as there isnt ehough water in there, so its gone into fail safe with the heater circuit.

i have a 1.9 102ps transporter i avg 32-35mpg. the latest model, 2.0l has more torgue in lower gears and quieter and is more economical. the 2.4’s are better on town work as you can do 30 in 5th gear but suck the fuel on motorways etc. they are proper vans not car derived so you wont get the same mpg’s from them. personally i wouldnt have ne thing else for reliability, low deprecation, versatility, and enough paneling to advertise ones self on 🙂

as far as i am aware (what i have been told by various customers) if its a residential home then a normal drain is ok aslong as they have hv a seperate machine for ‘soiled’ items. if its a care home then it kicks in the rules of wras, sluise , dump valves on drain etc. personaly if they have a ws5425 which is wras approved i would stick with it to avoid any issues.

slightly off topic but its a shame we dont have ‘like’ ‘dislike’ options to posts as im sure that would show the general trend of thought without having to get into a monologue of peoples views and opinions, which im sure stops alot of people posting as they just cant be arsed to. imo the whole 0800 debate has gone in a circle, they are around wether they will remain is another matter, better to not worry to much and just plough ahead doing what we know best 🙂 (while worrying about others you are distracted, better to not worry and move ahead)

They will more than likely not give a reply. The only thing we will read is if someone leaks some more correspondence.
From what has been posted i imagine they dont give a s*** what anyone thinks on here.
Them and us mentality seems to be the order of the day imho. The best result i can see atm from their distain towards everyone on here is for them to loose some members and anyone who was considering joining them not doing so 🙂
I looked at their website earlier its actually full of hot air what they say the benefits of being a member are i cant believe anyone would seriously think is worth joining them for anyway, unless a ‘boys club’ without any real standing is what someone may be wanting.

ParticipantRe: 0800 Repair
I was approached years ago to be a member of DASA , once looking into it i decided they are a boys club. Hence i never joined ! My suspicions then have now been proved right 🙂 This whole debacle has shown them up big time. Bums on seats ie revenue is all they are about.

Doesnt really matter what franchise it is the contract will be worded/loaded in such away that unless the franchisee hits targets, works their butt off beyond what the norm would be wont make anything like what is projected. Also you arent your own boss perse` as there will be someone analaysing your figures and telling you what to do to make them better etc. if you dont they will put the pressure on and ultimately pull the rug (it will be in the contract what ever anyone may dispute) Alot want 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}+ kick back off of turn over. The way i see it is that the whole purpose of setting up a franchise is to make money off the back of person(s) prepared to invest, i say if you have the money to buy the franchise use that to paddle your own canoe. From what i have read 0800 are in it (which is business) to make as much as they can off of who ever and to sell as many franchises as they can using what ever tactics to gain custom (crb , dasa, saying everyone else are no good etc)they can get away with (might not work out overall due to the fact not every customer is that nieve) then sell it all off. Personally i think their idea isnt going to work for them how they think 🙂 Just my two peniths worth.

ParticipantRe: cannon C60GCIK no gas coming to the oven
i dont know the laws of ireland with gas regs but here you would be putting your neck on the line touching them ! if you have only done 2 jobs then i would steer clear of them !
here you do ccn1 (core) then do the modules ie, cookers, fires, boilers, lpg, water heaters, tumble dryers etc. once thats done you (under present system) have to build a portfolio of work before you can join gas safe which then allows you to do the gas work on your own.from scratch courses + exams for ccn1 + cookers would be about 2k , so not alot different. its gettign the protfolio of work that gets most tbh.

ParticipantRe: cannon C60GCIK no gas coming to the oven
gas pressure @ fsd from gas valve/thermostat? blocked injector, blocked burner. assuming you hv 21mb and its NG give or take at fsd , solonoid has power to it, injector isnt blocked then its a goosed fsd.
are you gas safe registered ? 😕

ParticipantRe: Oven cleaning firms causing problems to engineers?
tbh they create work especially when they clean gas ovens and dont cover the burner 😉 im sure there must be legislation somewhere that they shouldnt be messing with gas appliances!
